சிங்கள அரசியல்வாதிகள் தங்கள் இலக்குகளை அடைய மதத்தை ஒரு கருவியாகப் பயன்படுத்துகிறார்கள்!

அறிவியல் கண்டுபிடிப்பின் காரணமாக இராமாயண காப்பியம் பற்றி புதிய விளங்கங்கள் கிடைத்துள்ளன.  அதன் அடிப்படையில் சிலர் இராமாயணம் புராணக்கதை அல்ல அது வரலாற்றை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டது என முடிவு செய்துள்ளார்கள். இராவணன் ஒரு பழங்கால திராவிட மன்னன் ஆவான். இந்து சமயம் இலங்கையில் பழங்காலத்தில் இருந்தே இருந்து வருகிறது. ஆனால் இந்தத் தீவின் பெரும்பான்மை மக்கள் அரசியல் காரணங்களுக்காக அதனை ஒப்புக் கொள்ளத் தயாராக இல்லை. அது மட்டுமல்ல பவுத்தம் பிற்காலத்திலேயே  இலங்கையில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது. பவுத்த மதத்தைப்  பின்பற்றும் தமிழர்கள் பலர் இருந்தனர் என்பது ஒரு மறுக்க முடியாத உண்மை. இருப்பினும், பவுத்தம் திராவிட தத்துவத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக உருவெடுத்தது.  ஆனால் இந்த உண்மையைப்  பெரும்பான்மை இனத்தவர் போலவே தமிழர்கள் அரசியல் காரணங்களுக்காக அதனை  ஒப்புக்கொள்ள விரும்புகிறார்கள் இல்லை.

நிச்சயமாக இஸ்லாம் மற்றும் கிறிஸ்தவ மதங்கள் பிற்காலத்தில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டன. இந்த நான்கு மதங்களும் இன்று தீவு முழுவதும் பரவலாகக் கடைப்பிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. இதனால் இலங்கையர்கள் தங்களது நாட்டில் முக்கிய நான்கு மதங்களையும் கடைப்பிடிப்பது பெரிய பேறு என்றே கூற வேண்டும்.  இராவணன்  கதை கிரேக்க புராணங்கயோடு மிகவும் ஒத்திருக்கிறது.  பண்டைய கிரேக்கம் (Helen of Troy) ஹெலன் ஆஃப் ஸ்பார்டா (Helen of Sparta)  என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. ஹெலன் என்பவள் உலகின் மிக அழகான பெண் என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. அவர் ஸ்பார்டாவின் மன்னர் மெனெலஸை (King Menelaus of Sparta) மணந்தார், ஆனால் ஹெலன் டிராய் இளவரசர் பாரிஸால் (Prince Paris of Troy)  கடத்தப்பட்டார். இதன் காரணமாக ட்ரோஜன் போர் (Trojan War)  மூண்டது.  அச்சேயன்கள் (Achaeans ) அவளை மீட்டுவரப் புறப்பட்டனர். அவள் ஒரு கடவுளின் மகள் என்று நம்பப்பட்டது.

அவரது தெரிவுகளும் விருப்பங்களும் தனது கணவருடன் மீண்டும் ஒன்றிணைய  வேண்டும் என்பதே.  மறுபக்கம் ஒரு துரோக ஹெலன் இருந்தார்.  அவர் கிரேக்க சடங்குகள் மற்றும் அவர் புரிந்த  படுகொலைகளில் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைந்தார்.  இறுதியில், பாரிஸ்  போரில் கொல்லப்பட்டார்.  ஆனால் ஹோமரோ ஹெலன் தனது கணவருடன் மீண்டும் இணைந்தார் என்கிறார்.  அவரது அழகு எல்லாக்  காலத்திலும் கலைஞர்களுக்கு ஊக்கமளித்தது.   இன்றும் இந்திய உபகண்டத்தில் உள்ள அனைத்து தேசிய இனங்களிலும்  சீதை அழகின் மறுவடிவமாகச்  சித்தரிக்கப்படுவதைக் காணலாம். ஹெலனின் உருவங்களும் ஹெலனின்  ட்ராய் என்ற புராணத்தில் காணப்படும் உருவங்களும் முரண்படுகின்றன. ஹோமர் அவளை ஒரு வருத்தந் தோய்ந்த, வாடிய தோற்றமுடைய ஒருவமாக சித்தரிக்கிறார்.  இப்படியான உருவம் கிமு 7 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் தோன்றத் தொடங்கியது. கிரேக்கத்தில் அவர் பாரிஸால் கடத்தப்பட்டார் – அல்லது அவருடன் தப்பித்தது ஒரு மைய அம்சமாகும்.  இடைக்கால உவமைகளில், இந்த நிகழ்வு அடிக்கடி ஒரு மயக்கமாக சித்தரிக்கப்பட்டது. அதே நேரத்தில் மறுமலர்ச்சி கால  ஓவியங்களில் இது பொதுவாக “கற்பழிப்பு” என்று சித்தரிக்கப்பட்டது. இதேபோன்ற ஆனால் நெறிமுறையாக வேறுபட்ட அர்த்தங்களை இந்திய கலைப் படைப்புகளிலும்  காணலாம். இந்த ஒப்பீடு முதல் நாகரிகங்களின் காலத்து நைல் நதிக்கு அருகில், இரண்டு நதிகள் கப்ரைட்டுகள், ரைக்ரிஸ் மற்றும் சிந்து (Cuprites, Tigris and Hindus) எடுத்துச் செல்கின்றன.  இந்த முதல் நாகரிகங்களில் வேளாண்மை மற்றும் விலங்குகளின்  இனப்பெருக்கம் மூலம் வாழ்க்கைப் பிரிவு ஏற்பட்டது. புராண ஆரிய மற்றும் திராவிட மோதல்கள் இருமை மனித இருப்பிலிருந்து உருவாகின்றன.  பைபிள்  அதே பிராந்தியத்தில் அதே காலகட்டத்தில் தோன்றிய முதல் நாகரிகங்கள் மீனவர்களின் கதையைச் சித்தரிக்கிறது. இந்த முதல் நாகரிகங்கள் மோதல்களுக்கு எதிராக எழுந்து சமாதானத்திற்காக மன்றாட வேண்டியிருந்தது. மனிதர்களாகிய நாம் இயல்பாகவே வளங்களுக்காக மோதினோம். எல்லாத்  தத்துவஞானிகளும் மனித  இனம் தப்பிவாழ்வதற்காக (survival)  அமைதியைப்  போதித்தனர்.

வரலாற்று ரீதியாக, புத்தரின் வாழ்க்கையும் திராவிட தத்துவத்தின் பரவலுடன் ஒன்றுபடுகின்றன. சிந்து நதிப்  பள்ளத்தாக்கின் மேற்கே பழைய நகரங்கள் (கி.மு. 7000 முதல் கி.மு. 2500 வரை), சிந்து சமவெளி நாகரிகத்தின் முன்னோடி என்று பல ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் கருதுகின்றனர், சிந்து சமவெளி நாகரிகத்தின் முன்னோடி, அதன் மக்கள் சிந்து பள்ளத்தாக்கில் குடியேறினர். அது சிந்து பள்ளத்தாக்கு நாகரிகம் என அழைக்கப்பட்டது. தெற்காசியாவில் விவசாயம் மற்றும் கால்நடை இடம் பெற்ற தொடக்க  தளங்களில் இதுவும் ஒன்றாகும். ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்களின் கூற்றுப்படி, நகரத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்ட கற்காலம் மற்றும் தாமிர கலாச்சாரங்களுக்கு இடையில் ஒரு வலுவான தொடர்ச்சி இருப்பதற்கு ​​பல் சான்றுகள் செம்புக்கால மக்கள் கற்கால மக்களிடமிருந்து வரவில்லை என்பதைக் காட்டுகின்றன. சிந்து எழுத்து வடிவம் மற்றும் ஹரப்பன் மொழி “பெரும்பாலும் திராவிட குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவையாக இருக்கலாம்” என்று அவர்கள் எழுதுகிறார்கள். ஹரப்பன் நாகரிகத்தின் சமனா பூசாரிகளுடனான தொடர்பு புத்தரின் விழிப்புணர்வுக்கு வழிவகுத்தது என்று திராவிட அறிஞர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள். புத்தர் என்றால்  “அறிவொழியூட்டப்பட்டவர்” “விழிப்புணர்வு பெற்றவர்” என்று அவர்கள் சொல்கிறார்கள். சங்கம் என்பது  சங் – அம் என்பதாகும். அதன் பொருள் கூட்டுறவுக் குழு என்பதாகும்.

எவ்வாறாயினும், புத்தரின் “விழிப்புணர்வு” மனித நாகரிகத்தின் முன்னேற்றத்தில் ஒரு முக்கிய மைல் கல்லாக இருந்தது. உலகின் பிற பகுதிகளில் உண்மையைத் தேடியதற்காக தத்துவவாதிகள் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டாலும் புத்தர் முதல் பகுத்தறிவுவாதியும் மனிதநேயவாதியும் ஆவர்.  வரலாற்றில் முதல் தடவையாக மனிதனின் நிலையை ஆராய்வதில் பகுத்தறிவு மற்றும் விமர்சன பகுப்பாய்வு செய்யப்பட்டன.  அவற்றின் மூலம் மனித நிலை, மனித சிந்தனை வழிகள் மற்றும் பூமியில் வாழ்வின் தன்மை பற்றி ஆராயப்பட்டது. புத்தர் மூச்சுத் திணறும் மதக் கோட்பாடுகள் மற்றும் மூடநம்பிக்கைகளின் புராண வடிவத்திலிருந்த மக்களின் மனப் போக்கை உடைத்தெறிந்தார்.  இது தர்க்கரீதியாக மேம்பட்டது.  மனிதன் மூடநம்பிக்கை நிறைந்த ஆன்மீகத்திலிருந்து தன்னை விடுவித்துக் கொண்டான். இது மனிதனின் மனதில் ஏற்பட்ட தனிப்பட்ட உளவியல் மாற்றமாகும்.  மனிதன் தன்னுடைய  கடந்த கால சமய நம்பிக்கைகளிலிருந்து முற்றாகத் தன்னைத் விடுவித்துக் கொண்டான்.  இந்த நான்கு மதங்களில் எந்த மதத்துக்கும் எந்தவொரு முட்டுக் கொடுப்பும் தேவையில்லை என்ற உண்மையை இலங்கை மக்கள் புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும்.  ஆனால் இவை ஆயிரமாயிரம் கசப்பான உண்மையை நமக்குத் தருகின்றன. இந்த நான்கு மதங்களில் ஒன்றில் இலங்கையர் பிறந்துள்ளார்கள். அவ்வளவுதான், ஆனால் அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோருக்கு என்ன போதிக்கப்பட்டது என்பது தெரியவில்லை. அவர்கள் புத்தரையும் பிற போதகர்களையும் இழிவுபடுத்தியுள்ளனர்.

அவர்களைப் பொறுத்தவரை, குறிப்பாக அரசியல்வாதிகள், அதிகாரத்திற்கு வருவதற்கு குறுக்கு வழியில் முயல்கிறார்கள்,  அவர்களுக்கு  இந்த மாபெரும் சிந்தனையாளர்கள் பற்றி எந்த மதிப்பும் இல்லை.  தாங்கள் நம்பும் தம்மத்தை ஒதுக்கி வைக்கின்றனர். ஆயினும்கூட அதே (சிங்கள) அரசியல்வாதிகள் தங்கள் இலக்குகளை அடைய மதத்தை ஒரு கருவியாகப் பயன்படுத்துகிறார்கள்.  அவர்களின் வாக்கு வங்கியைக் கவர அவர்களின் வழிபாட்டுத் தலங்களுக்குச் செல்லுகிறார்கள். ஒரு காலத்தில் தம்மத்தின் சொர்க்கமாக இருந்த நாடு  இன்று ஒரு குழப்பத்தில் இருப்பதில் வியப்பில்லை. ஒன்றைவிட  வேறு எதுவும் நல்லதல்ல. ஒருவர் எவ்வளவு படிக்க வேண்டுமோ அவ்வளவற்றையும் படிக்க வேண்டும். தம்ம யுத்தத்தைக் கொண்டுவரும் கொடூரமான பாசிஸ்டுகளுக்கு எதிராக கடுமையாகப் போராட  நாம்  தயாராக இருக்க வேண்டும்.

ஊழல் நடவடிக்கைகளைத் தொடர  விரும்புவர்களும் அதற்கு முட்டுக்கொடுக்க விரும்புபர்களுமே பவுத்த மதத்திற்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கிறார்கள்.  அதேசமயம், ஜனநாயகம் மற்றும் மத அமைதியின் கீழ் பவுத்தம் எப்படியாவது முக்கியத்துவம் பெற்றிருக்கும். (தமிழாக்கம் – நக்கீரன்)

Evidence  of Scientific discovery  throws more light on the epic Ramayana, and some conclude, on that basis  that Ramayana is based on history, not a mythology;  Ravana was an ancient Dravidian King of Lanka yet another confirmation that Hinduism was practised in Lanka from much earlier times a fact majority in this island nation, fail to admit for political reasons. It is also a fact that Buddhism was introduced to the country later and there were many Tamils followers of Buddhism. However Buddhism emerged as a part of Dravidian philosophy, a fact Tamils don’t wish to acknowledge, again for political reasons. Of course Islam and Christianity were introduced much later and all four religions are today practiced widely throughout the Island; thus Sri Lankans are privileged to have top four religions practiced in our country. Ravana story is very similar to the epic of Greek mythology, Helen of Troy (Ancient Greek) also known as Helen of Sparta, was said to have been the most beautiful woman in the world. She was married to King Menelaus of Sparta but was abducted by Prince Paris of Troy. This resulted in the Trojan War when the Achaeans set out to reclaim her. She was believed to have been the daughter of a god.

Her choice and wishes were to be reunited with her husband. Other accounts have a treacherous Helen who simulated, Greek rites and rejoiced in the carnage she caused. Ultimately, Paris was killed in action, and in Homer’s account Helen was reunited with her husband. Her beauty inspired artists of all times to represent her, frequently as the personification of ideal human beauty. Same could be said about Sita and even today in within all nationalities Indian subcontinent. Images of Helen in the legends of Helen in Troy are contradictory. Homer depicts her as a wistful, even sorrowful figure which came to regret, start appearing in the 7th century BCE. In Greece, her abduction by Paris – or escape with him – was a popular motif. In medieval illustrations, this event was frequently portrayed as a seduction, whereas in Renaissance paintings it was usually depicted as a “rape.” Similar but ethically different meanings could be found in Indian artistic work. This comparison takes us to the age of first civilizations, near the river Nile, two rivers Cuprites, Tigris and Hindus. In these first civilizations there came the division of living by cultivation and animal breeding. Mythical Aryan and Dravidian clashes arise out of duality human existence. Bible depicts the story of fishermen in the same period in the same region of first civilizations and had to rise up against clashes and plead for peace. We, humans, suffered for existence naturally clashed for resources. All philosophers preached for peace for the survival of human beings.

Historically, the life of the Buddha also coincides the spread of Dravidian philosophy. Many researchers regard the Harappans to have been Dravidian, notes that old cities (7000 BCE to c. 2500 BCE), to the west of the Indus river valley, is a precursor of the Indus Valley Civilization, whose inhabitants migrated into the Indus Valley and became the Indus Valley Civilization. It is one of the earliest sites with of farming and herding in South Asia. According to researchers, while there is a strong continuity between the Neolithic and Copper Age cultures of CITY, dental evidence shows that the chalcolithic population did not descend from the Neolithic population. They write that the Indus script and Harappan language are “most likely to have belonged to the Dravidian family”. The contact with Samana priests of Harappan civilization led to the awakening of Buddha says, Dravidian scholars. They say Buddha is pudiya meaning awakening. Sanga is from sang- am which means cooperative group.

In any case “awakening” of Buddha was a major landmark in the progress of human civilization. While philosophers were murdered for seeking truth in other parts of the world, Buddha became the first rational humanist. It was the first time in history reasoning and critical analysis were put to work in examining the human condition: human ways of thinking and the nature of life on earth. The Buddha had broken out of the mythical format of the suffocating religious dogmas and superstitions of the time that ruled people’s minds. It was logically uplifting; the man had broken from the spirituality of superstition. It was a personal psychological transformation of man’s mind: a total break from his religious past. Lankan need to understand the fact that none of these four religions need any propping up, but these give us thousands of Bitter Truth. That is all Lankan are born to one of these four religions, yet majority of them do not know what was preached. They have degraded Buddha and other Preachers.

To them, these great thinkers, in particular, the politicians, who are seeking a short cut to power, are no value, set aside the damma of their faith. Yet the same politicians use religion as a tool to achieve their goals; visit their places of worship merely to impress their vote bank. No wonder the country is in a mess that was once a paradise of years of damma and nothing is good than the other; one should study as much and be prepared to strudel against cruel fascists that bring in damma yuddaya. They who need propping up to continue their corrupt activities that gave prominence to Buddhism. Whereas Buddhism would have gained prominence anyway under democracy and religious peace.
