"நித்யானந்தா தனது பிரம்மச்சரியத்தைத் துறந்து, ரஞ்சிதாவைத்
திருமணம் செய்து கொள்ளச் சம்மதித்து விட்டார். ஆனால் அப்படி திருமணம் செய்தால் பல
ஆயிரம் கோடி சொத்துக்களைக் காப்பாற்ற முடியாது என்பதால் கடைசி நேரத்தில் மறுத்தார்.
அதன் விளைவுதான் ரஞ்சிதாவும் லெனின் கருப்பனும் திட்டமிட்டு சாமியாரைக்
கவிழ்த்தனர்", என்று புதிய தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியுள்ளன.
ரஞ்சிதா ஆரம்பத்தில் நடிகை ராகசுதா மற்றும் ஒரு சினிமா தயாரிப்பாளர் மூலம்தான்
சாமியாருக்கு அறிமுகமானாராம். அந்த சமயங்களில் எப்போதாவது ஒருமுறை பெங்களூர் போய்
வருவாராம்.
ஆனால் நித்யானந்தாவுக்கு தன்மேல் ஒரு ஈர்ப்பு இருப்பது புரிந்ததும் அங்கே தங்க
ஆரம்பித்தாராம். அவரது அந்தரங்க அறைக்குச் சென்று பணிவிடை செய்யும் அளவுக்கு இது
வளர்ந்தது. பின்னர் சாமியாரின் பிரம்மச்சரியத்தை பனிக்கட்டியாய் உருக
வைத்துவிட்டதாம் ரஞ்சிதாவின் கவர்ச்சி.
சாமியாரை விட ரஞ்சிதா மூன்று வயது மூத்தவராம். ரஞ்சிதாவின் அழகில் கட்டுண்ட
சாமியார், அவர் சொன்னதையெல்லாம் கேட்க ஆரம்பித்தாராம். லெனின் கருப்பனுக்கு இந்த
விவகாரம் முழுமையாகத் தெரியும் என்கிறார்கள் பெங்களூர் ஆசிரமத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்.
இதனால் ஆரம்பத்திலிருந்தே ரஞ்சிதாவை 'அண்ணி' என்ற முறை சொல்லி அழைக்க
ஆரம்பித்தாராம் லெனின். இதனை நித்யானந்தரின் செய்லாளர் உள்ளிட்ட ஆசிரம நிர்வாகிகள்
வெளிப்படையாகவே இப்போது சொல்கின்றனர்.
ஒரு கட்டத்தில் இருவரும் திருமணம் செய்து கொள்ள முடிவெடுத்தபோது, தனது சீடர்கள்
மற்றும் மத அமைப்புகளை நினைத்து பயந்தாராம் நித்யானந்தம். அப்போதுதான்,
பிரம்மச்சர்யத்தைத் துறந்து இல்லற வாழ்க்கையை அனுபவிப்பதாக வெளிப்படையாக அறிவித்த
குக்கே சுப்பிரமணிய மடத்தின் சாமியாரை உதாரணமாகச் சொல்லி நித்யானந்தா மனதை
சமாதானப்படுத்தியுள்ளார் ரஞ்சிதா.
இருவரும் திருமணத்துக்கு தயாரான போது, அதற்கு மடத்தின் முக்கிய நிர்வாகிகள்
எதிர்ப்பு தெர்வித்ததோடு, ஆசிரம சொத்துக்களை முடக்கிவிடுவோம் என்றும் எச்சரிக்க,
மிரண்டு போன நித்யானந்தா, திருமணத்துக்கு முரண்டு பிடித்துள்ளார்.
அதே நேரம் வேறு சில பெண்களையும் ஆசிரமத்துக்கு வரவழைத்து உல்லாசம்
அனுபிவித்துள்ளார். இதை ரஞ்சிதா பார்த்து அதிர்ச்சியடைந்து லெனின் கருப்பனிடம்
கூறினாராம். அப்போது உருவானதுதான் இந்த வீடியோ திட்டம் என்கிறார்கள் ஆசிரமத்தைச்
சேர்ந்த சிலர். இந்த செக்ஸ் வீடியோ எடுக்கப்பட்டதில் ரஞ்சிதாவின் பங்கை லெனினும்
மறுக்கவில்லை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
இதுகுறித்து பெங்களூர் நித்யானந்தா மடத்தில் உள்ள நித்யானந்தாவின் அந்தரங்க
செயலாளர் சேவானந்தா இப்படிக் கூறியுள்ளார்:

கனடாவில் வட்டுக்கோட்டைத் தீர்மானத்தை மீள் உறுதிசெய்யும் வாக்கெடுப்பு எதிர்வரும்
டிசெம்பர் 19 2009 (சனிக்கிழமை) நடைபெற இருக்கிறது. அதில் கனடா வாழ் தமிழ்மக்கள்
ஒவ்வொருவரும் தவறாது கலந்து கொண்டு உங்கள் வரலாற்றுக் கடமையைச் செய்யுமாறு
கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.
ஈழத் தமிழ்மக்களது போராட்ட வரலாற்றில் வட்டுக்கோட்டைத் தீர்மானம் ஒரு மைல்
கல்லாகும். பாகிஸ்தான் கேட்டு முஸ்லிம் கட்சியின் லாகூர் மாநாட்டில் 1940 இல்
நிறைவேற்றப்பட்ட தீர்மானத்தை விட உயர்வானது. காரணம் முஸ்லிம் கட்சி இல்லாத
பாகிஸ்தானைக் கேட்டது. நாம் ஒரு காலத்தில் இருந்து பின்னர் இழந்த அரசைக்
கேட்கிறோம்.
சிங்கள - பவுத்த பேரினவாத அரசுகளால் தமிழர்களது அடிப்படை உரிமைகள் பறிக்கப்பட்டு
பிறந்த நாட்டிலேயே அவர்கள் இரண்டாம் தர குடிமக்கள் நிலைக்குத் தள்ளப்பட்டனர்.
தமிழ்த் தலைவர்கள் சிங்கள அரசியல் தலைவர்களோடு எழுதப்பட்ட உடன்பாடுகள்
கிழித்தெறியப்பட்டன. சிங்களம் மட்டும் ஆட்சிமொழி ஆக்கப்பட்டது. 1972 இல்
உருவாக்கப்பட்ட புதிய யாப்பு சோல்பரி யாப்பின் விதி 29 மூலம் தமிழர்கள் உட்பட
சிறுபான்மை மக்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டிருந்த அரைகுறைப் பாதுகாப்பை அறவே நீக்கி பவுத்த
மதத்துக்கு முதன்மை இடம் கொடுத்தது.
இவற்றால் தமிழ்மக்கள் சிங்கள மக்களோடு சேர்ந்து ஒரே நாட்டின் கீழ் வாழ முடியாது
என்ற முடிவுக்கு தமிழ்த் தலைவர்கள் வந்தார்கள். அதன் எதிரொலியே வட்டுக் கோட்டைத்
தீர்மானம் ஆகும்.
வட்டுக்கோட்டைத் தீர்மானம் தமிழ்மக்களுக்குரிய தாயகம் தேசியம் தன்னாட்சி
உரிமைகளின் அடிப்படையில் ; சுதந்திரமான இறைமையுடைய சமயசார்பற்ற தமிழீழ அரசை மீள்
எழுப்புதலும் மீள் உருவாக்குதலும் (சுநளவழசயவழைn யனெ சுநஉழளெவவைரவழைn ழக யn
iனெநிநனெநவெ யனெ ளழஎநசநபைn ளவயவந ழக வுயஅடை நுநடயஅ) தவிர்க்க முடியாததாக ஆகிவிட்டது
எனப் பிரகடனப்படுத்தியது.
தமிழீழ அரசு என்பது இல்லாத ஒன்றை புதிதாக உருவாக்கும் முயற்சி இல்லை. இருந்த அரசை
மீள் எழுப்பி மீள் உருவாக்குவது ஆகும். 1619 ஆம் ஆண்டு யாழ்ப்பாண அரசினை ஆண்ட
இரண்டாவது சங்கிலி மன்னன் போர்த்துக்கேயரால் போர்க்களத்தில் வெற்றிகொள்ளப்பட்ட போது
தமிழ் மக்கள் தமது இறைமையை இழந்தார்கள். 1972 இல் தமிழர்களின் வேட்கைகளைப்
புறந்தள்ளி எதிர்ப்பின் மத்தியில் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்ட குடியரசு அரசியல் யாப்பு
ஈழத்தமிழ் மக்களைப் புதிய கொலனித்துவ எசமானர்களான சிங்களவர்களால் ஆளப்படும் ஓர்
அடிமைத் தேசிய இனமாக ஆக்கியது. 1972 இல் எமது இறைமை எமது கை;கு வந்திருக்க
வேண்டும். ஆனால் சிங்கள - பவுத்த பேரினவாதிகள் அதனைத் தட்டிப் பறித்து விட்டார்கள்.
இதனால் தமிழ்த் தேசிய இனத்தின் ஆட்புலம், மொழி, குடியுரிமை, பொருளாதார வாழ்க்கை,
தொழில் மற்றும் கல்வி வாய்ப்புக்கள் இழக்கப்பட்டன.
வட்டுக்கோட்டைத் தீர்மானத்தில் சொல்லப்பட்ட தாயகம்இ தேசியம் தன்னாட்சி உரிமை
ஆகியவற்றின் அடிப்படையிலேயே தமிழர் தரப்பு திம்பு பேச்சு வார்த்தையில் கலந்து
கொண்டது. இடைக்கால அதிகார அவை (ஐளுபுயு) வட்டுக்கோட்டைத் தீர்மானத்தை
குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது. ஒஸ்லோ உடன்பாட்டில் முன்வைக்கப்பட்ட உள்ளக தன்னாட்சி உரிமை
வட்டுக்கோட்டைத் தீர்மானத்தை ஒட்டியதே. இன்று உருவாகிவரும் நாடுகடந்த தமிழீழ அரசு
வட்டுக்கோட்டைத் தீர்மானத்துக்கு புலத்தில் கொடுக்கப்படும் கட்டமைப்பு வடிவமே
ஆகும்.
எனவே எதிர்வரும் டிசெம்பர் 19 இல் (சனிக்கிழமை) நடைபெற இருக்கும் வாக்கெடுப்பில்
100 விழுக்காடு வாக்கினைப் பதிவு செய்யுமாறு மக்களையும் மண்ணையும் மறக்காத கனடிய
உடன்பிறப்புக்களை விரும்பிக் கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறோம்.
தப்புத்தாளம் போடும் சிவநாதன் கிஷோரும்நல்லதம்பி சிறிகாந்தாவும்
பூனை இல்லாத வீட்டில் எலி சன்னதம் என்பார்கள். இப்போது புலி இல்லாத நாட்டில்
பூனைகள் ஓடி விளையாடுகின்றன.
தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டணியின் வன்னி மாவட்ட நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சிவநாதன்
கிஷோர் கொஞ்சக் காலமாக தமிழ்மக்களை வானிலிருந்து குண்டு போட்டும் தரையில்
இருந்து செல் அடித்தும் மனிதப் படுகொலையை கச்சிதமா அரங்கேற்றின மகிந்த
இராசபக்சேயின் அரசுக்கு ஆதரவாகச் செயல்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்.
இரண்டு நாள்களுக்கு முன் வன்னியில் உள்ள வதைமுகாம்களில் சிறைவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள
மக்களை வெளியே விடுமாறு மன்னிப்புச்சபை அறிக்கை மூலம் கேட்டது. கேட்பதோடு
நில்லாமல் தெருவுக்கு இறங்கி போராடியது.
ஆனால் கிஷோர் இராபச்சேயைக் கட்டிப்பிடித்து பிறந்தநாள் வாழ்த்துத்
தெரிவிக்கிறார். அவரது தமிழ்க் குருதி படிந்த கையைப் பிடித்துக்
குலுக்குகிறார்.
இன்னொரு தமிழத் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பு உறுப்பினர் நல்லதம்பி சிறிகாந்தா அமைச்சர்
பசில் இராசபக்சேக்கும் மீள்குடியேற்றம் மற்றும் இடர் நிவாரண சேவைகள் அமைச்சர்
ரிசாட் பதியுதீன் இருவருக்கும் பாமாலை பாடி புகழ்மாலை சூட்டுகிறார். இந்த இரு
அமைச்சர்களும் மீள்குடியேற்றத்தை மிகுந்த “அர்ப்பணிப்பு” டன் செய்வதாக
சான்றிதழ் வழங்குகிறார். சிறைவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள எமது உறவுகளோ வதை முகாம்களில்
எந்த அடிப்படை வசதிகளும் இன்றி மழைவெள்ளத்தில் மிதக்கும் கூடாரங்களில் அரசு
கொடுக்கும் அரிசியையும் மாவையும் சமைத்துச் சாப்பிட வழியில்லாது
திண்டாடுகிறார்கள். மருத்துவ வசதியின்றி அல்லல்படுகிறார்கள். மீள்குடியமர்த்தப்
பட்டோரில் பெரும்பாலோர் நடுத்தெருவில் விடப்பட்டுள்ளார்கள்.
இந்த அழகில் கிஷோரும் சிறிகந்தாவும் அரசையும் அமைச்சர்களையும் இந்திரன்
சந்திரன் எனப் போற்றிப் பாடுவது அந்த மக்களுக்குச் செய்யும் இரண்டகம் இல்லையா?
கடந்த கிழமை கனடிய தமிழ் வானொலிக்கு சிறிகாந்தா கொடுத்த செவ்வியில் தான்
ஒன்றும் அரசியலில் கற்றுக்குட்டி இல்லை என்றும் தான் ஏழு வயது தொட்டே அரசியலில்
ஈடுபடத் தொடங்கியதாகவும் தனது பதினேழாவது வயதில் தீவிர அரசியலில்
குதித்ததாகவும் தான் ஒரு சட்டத்தரணி என்றும் தான் மக்களால் தெரிவு
செய்யப்பட்டவர் என்றும் மிகவும் தலைக் கனத்தோடு சொன்னார். அவரது வார்த்தையில்
ஆணவம் பளிச்சிட்டது என வானொலி நேயர்கள் சொன்னார்கள்.
சிறிகாந்தா தான் மக்களால் தெரிவு செய்யப்பட்ட நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் என்று எதை
வைத்துச் சொல்கிறார் என்பது தெரியவில்லை. 2001 ஆம் ஆண்டு திருகோணமலை தேர்தல்
மாவட்டத்தில் ரெலோ சார்பில் போட்டியிட்டுத் தோற்றவர். மீண்டும் 2004 ஆம் ஆண்டு
யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் அதே ரெலோ சார்பில் போட்டியிட்டுத் தோற்றவர். நடராசா ரவிராஜ்
அரச கூலிப்படைகளால் கொல்லப்பட்டதன் காரணமாகவே அவரது வெற்றிடத்திற்கு
தேசியப்பட்டியலில் இருந்து சிறிகாந்தா நாடாளுமன்றத்துக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.
சட்டத்தரணியாக இருந்தாலும் சரி அரசியலைக் கரைத்துக் குடித்த அரம் போல் புத்திக்
கூர்மையராக இருந்தாலும் சரி வேறு யாராக இருந்தாலும் சரி எதிரிகளோடு பின்
வாசலால் சென்று கூடிக் குலாவி விருந்துண்டு அற்ப சலுகைகளுக்காக அவர்களுக்கு
சாமரம் வீசுபவர்கள் யாராக இருந்தாலும் அவர்களால் தேசத்துக்குப் பயனில்லை.
தேசியத்துக்கும் பயனில்லை. அவர்கள் ஓரறிவுயிராகிய மரத்தைப் போன்றவரே ஆவர்.
இதனை தப்புத்தாளம் போடும் சிவநாதன் கிஷோரும் நல்லதம்பி சிறிகாந்தாவும் புரிந்து
கொள்ள வேண்டும்.
கட்டுப்பாட்டுக்குப் பெயர் போன தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பு இப்படி ஒழுங்காகப்
பட்டிக்குள் இருக்க மறுக்கும் கருப்பு ஆடுகளுக்கு எதிராக என்ன நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க
இருக்கிறது என்பதை அறிய விரும்புகிறோம். காரணம் உள்ளத்தால் ஒன்றுபடாதவர்கள்
கட்சிக்குள் இருப்பது ஒரு சிறிய குடிலுக்குள் பாம்புடன் இருப்பது போன்று
ஒவ்வொரு நொடியும் அச்சம் தருவதாக இருக்கும். அது மட்டுமல்ல உட்பகையை அது
மெலிதாயிருக்கும் தொடக்க நிலையிலேயே களைந்துவிட வேண்டும். அங்ஙனமன்றி அது
வலுத்தபின் பலர் கூடி வெட்டினாலும் வெட்டுவோரை அது வெட்டும். இந்த இருவரும்
கடந்த காலங்களிலும் தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பின் தலைமையோடு முரண்பட்டு
வந்தவர்கள் என்பதனை இங்கு நினைவூட்ட விரும்புகிறோம்.

வணக்கம். நீங்கள் யூனியர் விகடனில் வெளிவந்த பேராசிரியர்
சிவத்தம்பியின் செவ்வி தொடர்பாக "ஆராய்ச்சி மாநாடுகளைக் குழப்புவதே ஒவ்வொரு
முறையும் பேரா. சிவத்தம்பி போன்றோரின் செயல்" என எழுதிய மடலைப் படிக்க
நேர்ந்தது.
1974 ஆம் ஆண்டு நடந்த தமிழ் ஆராய்ச்சி மாநாட்டை அன்றைய
ஆளும்கட்சியினதும் கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சியினதும் எடுபிடிகளாக இருந்த சிவத்தம்பி,
கயிலாசபதி, இந்திரபாலா போன்றோர் அரசியல் காரணங்களுக்காக எதிர்த்தது உண்மையே.
அதில் கருத்து வேறுபாடில்லை. பின்னர் அவர்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்ட அவமானத்தையும்
அவப்பெயரையும் போக்கவே நாவலரைப் பெரிய தேசியவாதியாக - அநகாரிக தர்மபாலரது
அளவுக்கு உயர்த்தி அவருக்கு யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் விழா எடுத்து சிலையும் வைத்தனர்.
அன்றைய யாழ்ப்பாண மாநகரசபையின் ஆளும் சுதந்திரக் கட்சி சார்பு மேயராக இருந்த
அல்பிரட் துரையப்பா தமிழாராய்ச்சி மாநாட்டுக்குத் திறந்த வெளியரங்கைக் கொடுக்க
மறுத்து 9 உயிர்களின் சாவுக்குக் காரணமாக இருந்த பாவத்துக்குக் கழுவாய்
தேடுமுகமாகவும் முகத்தில் பூசப்பட்ட கரியைக் கழுவவும் அவற்றை முன்னின்று
செய்தார்.
1974க்குப் பின் தமிழ்த்தேசிய நீரோட்டத்தில் பெரும் மாற்றம்
ஏற்பட்டது. செஞ்சட்டைக்காரர்கள் செந்தமிழர்களாக மாறினார்கள். அதற்குத் தமிழீழ
விடுதலைப் போராட்டமே காரணம் ஆகும். இந்த மாற்றத்துக்கு உள்ளாகியவர்களில்
பேராசிரியர் சிவத்தம்பியும் ஒருவர். அந்த அடிப்படையில் இன்றைய பேராசிரியர்
சிவத்தம்பியை அன்றைய பேராசிரியர் சிவத்தம்பியோடு ஒப்பிட்டுப் பேசுவது அறம்
அல்ல.
ஆனால் 7,8 தமிழாராய்ச்சி மாநாடுகளைக் காட்டாகக் காட்டி 9 ஆவது
மாநாட்டை நடத்தலாம் என்று நீங்கள் கூறுவது ஏற்புடையதல்ல. முன்னர் விட்ட பிழைகளை
மீண்டும் விட வேண்டும் என்ற ஏது சரியல்ல.
பன்னாட்டுத் தமிழ் ஆராய்சி கழகத்தின் தலைவராக இருக்கும் நெபுரா
கரோஷிமா 9 ஆவது மாநாட்டை நடத்த வேண்டாம் என்று சொல்லவில்லை. சனவரி 2011 இல்
நடத்தலாம் என்றுதான் சொன்னார்.
எது எப்படியிருப்பினும் முதல்வர் கருணாநிதிக்கு உலகத்தமிழ்
செம்மொழி மாநாட்டை நடத்த அருகதையில்லை. அப்படியிருந்தாலும் அப்படியொரு மாநாட்டை
நடத்துவதற்கான சூழ்நிலை இப்போது இல்லை. அதற்கான நேரம் இதுவல்ல.
செம்மொழி மாநாட்டில் தமிழறிஞர்கள்ஈ தமிழ் உணர்வாளர்கள், தமிழ்ச்
சான்றோர்கள் கலந்து கொள்ளக் கூடாது என பாரிஸ் ஈழநாடு வேண்டுகோள்
விடுத்துள்ளது. தமிழ்ப் படைப்பாளிகள் கழகம் வேண்டுகோள் விடுத்துள்ளது. வேறு பல
அமைப்புக்களும் எதிர்ப்புத் தெரிவித்துள்ளன.
இப்போது நீங்கள் முதல்வர் கருணாநிதிக்கு முண்டு கொடுப்பது போல
“ஆராய்ச்சி மாநாடுகளைக் குழப்புவதே ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் பேரா. சிவத்தம்பி
போன்றோரின் செயல்” எனக் குற்றம் சாட்டியுள்ளீர்கள். எதை வைத்து இந்தக்
குற்றச்சாட்டை அவர் மீது வீசுகிறீர்கள் என்பது தெரியவில்லை? இம்முறை மாநாட்டை
அவர் குழப்பவில்லை. ஆதரவாக அல்லவா பேசியும் எழுதியும் வருகிறார்?

சிவத்தம்பி - ......................கடந்த ஒன்பது ஆண்டுகளில்
சர்வதேச அளவில் தமிழுக்காக மாநாடு நடக்காத நிலையில், அதிலும் தமிழ் செம்மொழி ஆன
பிறகு இந்த மாநாடு நடப்பதை மகிழ்வுடன் வரவேற்கிறேன். அதோடு, மாநாட்டில்
கலந்துகொள்ளும் ஆர்வமும் எனக்கிருக்கிறது. என் உடல்நிலையைக் கருத்தில்கொண்டு
பார்க்கையில்,அதில் கலந்துகொள்வது குறித்து உடனே என்னால் தெரிவிக்க இயலாது.
உரிய நேரத்தில் என் முடிவைத் தெரிவிப்பேன். இதில் சிலர் தங்களுடைய ஆசைகளையும்
எண்ணங்களையும் என் மேல் திணிக்க முயல்கிறார்கள். நான் தமிழை நேசிப்பவனே தவிர,

யூனியர் விகடன் - 'மாநாட்டுக்கு தங்களை வரவிடாமல் தடுக்க சில
ஆதிக்க சக்திகள் முயல்வதாக கருணாநிதி சொல்லியிருக்கிறாரே?'

உண்மையைத்தான் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். அவர் என்னை மாநாட்டுக்கு வரவேண்டுமென
அழைப்பு விடுத்திருக்கிறார். நானும் பரிசீலிப்பதாகச் சொல்லி யிருக்கிறேன்.
மற்றபடி, நான் மாநாட்டுக்கு வருவதைத் தடுக்க சில சக்திகள் விரும்புவதாகச்
சொல்லப்படும் அரசியலுக்குள் நான் வர விரும்பவில்லை. அரசியல் வேறு, தமிழ்மொழி
வேறு. இரண்டையும் கலக்கவேண்டாம். நான் மாநாட்டுக்கு செல்ல முடிவெடுத்து
விட்டால், என்னை யாராலும் தடுக்க முடியாது!”
உண்மை என்னவென்றால் சிவத்தம்பி மாநாட்டில் கலந்து கொள்வதா
இல்லையா என்பது பற்றி முன்பின் முரணாகப் பேசி வருகிறார். அவர் பிபிசி
தமிழோசைக்கு அளித்த செவ்வியில் “இலங்கைத் தமிழர் விவகாரத்தில் கருணாநிதியின்
நிலைப்பாடுகள் குறித்து பல்வேறு விமர்சனங்கள் நிலவும் சூழலில் அவர் கூட்டியுள்ள
உலகத் தமிழ் மாநாட்டில் தாம் பங்கேற்பது பொருத்தமற்றதாக இருக்கும்” என்று
இலங்கைத் தமிழ் அறிஞர் பேராசிரியர் கார்த்திகேசு சிவத்தம்பி தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
ஆனால் இப்போது தான் அப்படிச் சொல்லவில்லை என மறுத்துள்ளார்.
உடல்நலம் இடங்கொடுத்தால் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் மாநாட்டில் கலந்து கொள்வதாகச்
சொல்கிறார்.
எனவே பேராசிரியர் சிவத்தம்பி “ஆராய்ச்சி மாநாடுகளைக் குழப்புவதே ஒவ்வொரு
முறையும் பேரா. சிவத்தம்பி போன்றோரின் செயல்” என்பதில் பொருள் இல்லை. அவர்
மாநாடு நடைபெறுவதற்கு முழு ஒத்துழைப்பு நல்குகிறார். உடல் நலம் இடங்கொடுத்தால்
அதில் கலந்து கொள்ளவும் இருக்கிறார்!
எனவேதான் “;முதல்வர் கருணாநிதியின் அழுத்தத்துக்கோ இழுப்புக்கோ
பேராசிரியர் சிவத்தம்பி பலியாகித் தனது பெயரைக் கெடுத்துக் கொள்ளமாட்டார் என
நம்புகிறோம்” என நயமாக அவருக்குப் புரியும் தமிழில் ஏற்கனவே எடுத்துச்
சொல்லியிருக்கிறோம்.

தமிழோடு அரசியலைக் கலக்கக் கூடாது என்பது சமயத்துக்கு ஏற்ற
வாதம். அதனை நீங்கள் சொன்னாலும் சரி, சிவத்தம்பி சொன்னாலும் சரி
நாம் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள மாட்டோம். தமிழக அரசு சார்பாக நடைபெறும் உலகத்தமிழ் செம்மொழி

நானகாவது அனைத்துலகத்
தமிழாராய்ச்சி மாநாட்டை யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் நடத்துமாறு
அனைத்துலகத் தமிழாராய்ச்சி மன்றத்திடம் ஒரே மனதாக இலங்கைக் குழு
கேட்டது.
மன்றமும் ஒப்பியது"

இதற்கான முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டது. இதில்
புலமையாளர் மட்டுமே ஈடுபட்டனர்"

மாநாடுகள் இதுவரை 8 நடைபெற்றன. 1,2,3,4,5,8 ஆகிய
மாநாடுகளே அனைத்துலகத் தமிழாராய்ச்சி மன்றத்தின் ஒப்புதலுடன் நடந்த
மாநாடுகள். மலேசியாவில் நடைபெற்ற
6ஆவது, மொரிசியசில் நடைபெற்ற 7ஆவது மாநாடுகள்
அனைத்துலகத் தமிழார்ய்ச்சி மன்ற ஒப்புதலுடன் நடைபெறவில்லை"

அம்மாநாடுகள் பற்றித் தெரியாது. திரு. டேவிட்
தலைமையில் அமைந்த குழு தன்னிச்சையாக மலேசிய மாநாட்டு அழைப்பாளராகியது.

தம்மிச்சையாக அரசு விழாவாக மாநாட்டை நடத்தினர்.
மொரிசியசு மாநாடும் அப்படியானதே. பதிவுகளைப் பார்த்தால்
தெரியும். தமிழ் ஆர்வலர்களின் மாநாடுகளாக இழ்விரு மாநாடுகளும்
நடந்தேறின. சிறிய எண்ணிக்கையில் புலமையாளர்

அவர் செயலாளரானபின் அனைத்துலகத்
தமிழாரய்ச்சி மன்றக் கூட்டம் ஒரு பொழுதும்
நடைபெறவில்லை.
மலேசிய, மொரிசியசு மாநாடுகள்
முன்னுதாரணமாக அமைவதால் கோவை மாநாட்டைஒன்பதாவது
மாநாடு என அறிவிப்பதில் தவறில்லை. அனைத்துலகத் தமிழாராய்ச்சி
மன்றம் செயற்படாத நிலையில்,
மன்றத்துக்குப் புத்துயிரளிக்க இந்த மாநாடு
உதவியிருக்கும். கால அவகாசம் கேட்கலாம். ஆனால் ஒன்பதாவது மாநாடாக
அறிவித்ததைத் தடுப்பது யாழ்ப்பாண
மாநாட்டுக்கு எதிராகச் சிங்கள அரசுக்குப்
பேரா. சிவத்தம்பி உதவியது போலத்தான!

மக்கள் விடுதலை பெற்று பாதுகாப்போடும், மானத்தோடும், மகிழ்ச்சியோடும் வாழும் நிலை
ஏற்படும் வரை முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி நடத்த இருக்கும் உலகத் தமிழ் மாநாட்டை தமிழ்
உணர்வாளர்கள், தமிழ் அறிஞர்கள், தமிழ்ச் சான்றோர்கள், கலைஞர்கள், பொதுமக்கள்
அனைவரும் புறக்கணிக்க வேண்டும் என தமிழ் படைப்பாளிகள் கழகம் வேண்டுகோள்
விடுத்துள்ளது.
இது தொடர்பாக
அக்கழகம் வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கை வருமாறு:-
பெற்ற தாய் கிண்ணிப் பிச்சை எடுக்க தம்பி கும்பகோணத்தில் கோதானம் செய்தானாம்.
அதைத்தான் முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி இப்போது செய்ய நினைக்கிறார்.
வன்னிப் பெருநிலப்பரப்பில் ஆறாக ஓடிய தமிழ்மக்களின் குருதி காயுமுன்னர், அவர்கள்
சொரிந்த கண்ணீர் வற்ற முன்னர், முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி ஒன்பதாவது உலகத் தமிழ் மாநாட்டை
நடத்தப் போவதாக அறிவித்திருப்பது கடைந்தெடுத்த இரண்டகமாகும்!
இந்த மாநாடு தமிழ்மொழிக்கு சீரும் சிறப்பும் எழுச்சியும் ஏற்றமும் தர
நடத்தப்படவில்லை. தனது ஆட்சிக் காலத்தில் ஒருமுறையேனும் உலகத் தமிழ் மாநாடு
இடம்பெறவில்லை என்ற குறையைத் தீர்க்கவே முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி இந்த மாநாட்டை
நடத்துகிறார். இன்னொரு காரணம் தன் மீது சுமத்தப்பட்டுள்ள வரலாற்றுப் பழியைத்
துடைத்துக் கொள்ள உலகத் தமிழ் மாநாடு கைகொடுக்கும் என நினைக்கிறார்.
தமிழகத்தில், தமிழ் ஆட்சி மொழியாகப் பெயரளவில் மட்டும் இருக்கிறது. பள்ளிக்
கூடங்களில் தமிழ் கற்கைமொழியாக இல்லை. அரச திணைக்களங்களில் தமிழ் இல்லை.
நீதிமன்றங்களில் தமிழ் இல்லை. வழிபாட்டில் தமிழ் இல்லை. அங்காடிகளின் பெயரில் தமிழ்
இல்லை. இந்திய நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் அமைச்சர் அழகிரி தமிழில் பேசுவதற்கு அனுமதியில்லை.
இப்படி எங்கும் எதிலும் தமிழ் இல்லை என்ற கண்றாவிக் காட்சியே தமிழகத்தில் உள்ளது.
இந்த அழகில் முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி உலகத் தமி;ழ்நாடு நடத்த நினைப்பது உலகத் தமிழரை
ஏமாற்றும் எத்தனமாகும்.
“வீழ்வது நாமானாலும் வாழ்வது தமிழாகட்டும்” என எதுகை மோனையில் பேசும் முதல்வர்
கருணாநிதியின் குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்த பலருக்குத் தமிழில் பெயரில்லை. அழகிரி,
ஸ்டாலின், கலாநிதி, தயாநிதி, உதயநிதி, அறிவுநிதி எல்லாமே கலப்பு மொழிப் பெயர்கள்.
முதல்வர் கருணாநிதியின் பேரர்களுக்குச் சொந்தமான ‘சன்’ தொலைக்காட்சியில் தமிங்கிலம்
கோலோச்சுகிறது. தூய தமிழுக்கு அதில் மருந்துக்கும் இடம் இல்லை. தமிழினப்
பகைவர்கள்தான் அதில் முக்கிய பதவிகளில் அமர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளார்கள்.
ஆண்டுக் கணக்காக சிங்கள இராணுவம் மேற்கொண்ட இனவழிப்புப் போரில் ஒரு இலக்கம்
தமிழர்கள் கொல்லப்பட்டார்கள். முள்ளி வாய்க்காலில் நடந்த இறுதிக்கட்டப் போரில்
மட்டும் 25,000 மக்கள் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.
ஆண்கள், பெண்கள், குழந்தைகள் என அனைத்துத் தரப்பினரும் உணவு, மருந்து இன்றி பல
மாதங்கள் பதுங்கு குழிகளுக்குள் அடைந்து கிடந்தனர். சீனா, பாகிஸ்தான், ரஷ்யா
உள்ளிட்ட நாடுகளின் வானூர்திகள் மருத்துவமனைகள் மீதும் பள்ளிகள் மீதும் வீசிய
குண்டுகளில் அப்பாவித் தமிழர்கள் ஆயிரக்கணக்கில் கொல்லப்பட்டனர். போரில்
காயமடைந்தவர்கள் மருத்துவமனைகளில் மருத்துவம் பெற்று வந்தபோது மீண்டும் குண்டு
வீசப்பட்டு கொல்லப்பட்டார்கள்.
முள்ளிவாய்க்காலில் தமிழ்மக்கள் வகைதொகையின்றி எதிரியின் பல்குழல் பீரங்கித்
தாக்குதலில் பொட்டுப் பூச்சிகள் போல் கொல்லப்பட்ட போது முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி
டில்லியில் முகாமிட்டு மகனுக்கும் பேரனுக்கும் அமைச்சர் பதவிக்காகப் பேரம் பேசிய
இரண்டகத்தை வரலாறு நிச்சயம் மன்னிக்காது.
போரில் தப்பிய மூன்று இலக்கம் மக்கள் முட்கம்பி வேலிகளுக்குப் பின்னால் ஆடு மாடுகள்
போல் அவர்களது விருப்பத்துக்கு மாறாக, சட்டதிட்டங்களுக்கு முரணாக, திறந்தவெளிச்
சிறைச்சாலைகளில் அடைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்கள். துப்பாக்கி ஏந்திய சிங்கள இராணுவத்தினர்
காவலுக்கு நிற்கிறார்கள். மக்களது நடமாடும் சுதந்திரம் பறிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அவர்கள்
தவணை முறையில் செத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.
“விலங்குகளை அடைத்து வைத்துள்ளது போல, அப்பாவித் தமிழர்களை முகாம்கள் என்ற பெயரில்
வனவிலங்குக் கொட்டகைகளில் அடைத்து வைத்துள்ளனர்” என்று அமெரிக்காவைச் சேர்ந்த
மனிதவுரிமை ஆர்வலர் மருத்துவர் எலின் சந்தர் வேதனை தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார். அந்த யூத
இனப் பெணணுக்கு இருக்கும் கவலை முதல்வர் கருணாநிதிக்கு இல்லை. இந்திய அரசு எலின்
சந்தருக்கு முதலில் விசா வழங்கிவிட்டுப் பின்னர் மறுத்துவிட்டது!
இந்தியத் தலைவர்கள் அடிக்கடி இலங்கை சென்று திரும்பியது போரை நிறுத்துவதற்காக அல்ல
என்றும் தமிழ் மக்களைக் கொன்று குவித்து இனப்படுகொலை புரிந்த சிங்கள பயங்கரவாத
அரசைப் பாராட்டுவதற்காகத்தான் என்றும் 'மை ரெலிகிராப்' நாளிதழில் உலகின் தலைசிறந்த
ஊடகவியலாளர்களில் ஒருவரும் மனித உரிமை ஆர்வலருமான றிச்சர்ட் டிக்சன் எழுதியுள்ளார்.
மேலும் இலங்கையில் அப்பாவித் தமிழர்கள் படுகொலை செய்யப்பட்டதற்கு இந்தியா ஆக்கமும்
ஊக்கமும் அளித்ததாக அவர் குற்றம் சாட்டியுள்ளார்.
திறந்தவெளிச் சிறைச்சாலைகளில் தடுத்து வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள மக்களுக்குப் போதிய
உணவில்லை, தண்ணீர் இல்லை, மருந்து இல்லை. கழிப்பறை வசதி இல்லை. சின்னச் சின்ன
கூடாரங்களில் வானமே கூரையாகவும் கட்டாந்தரையே பாயாகவும் படுத்து உறங்கி
எழுகிறார்கள். தொடக்கத்தில் சமைத்த உணவு வழங்கப்பட்டது. இப்போது அரிசி, மா
இரண்டையும் கொடுத்து சமைத்துச் சாப்பிடச் சொல்கிறார்கள். சமைப்பதற்கு விறகு
வேண்டும். விறகு விற்றவர்கள் மீது சிங்கள இராணுவம் துப்பாக்கிச் சூடு மேற்கொண்டதில்
2 குழந்தைகள் உட்பட 5 பேர் படுகாயம் அடைந்து மருத்துவமனையில்
சேர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்கள்.
இந்த வதைமுகாம்களில் நடைபெறும் சித்திரவதைகளைப் பார்வையிட ஐ.நா. உட்படப்
பன்னாட்டுத் தொண்டு நிறுவனங்களுக்கு அனுமதியில்லை. இந்து ராம் தவிர ஏனைய
ஊடகவியலாளர்களுக்கு அனுமதியில்லை. மக்களால் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட நாடாளுமன்ற
உறுப்பினர்களுக்கு அனுமதியில்லை. தென்தமிழீழத்தில் செயல்பட்டுவந்த செஞ்சிலுவைச்
சங்க அலுவலகங்கள் ஸ்ரீலங்கா அரசின் கட்டளைக்கு இணங்க மூடப்பட்டுவிட்டன.

ஆண்டு மதுரையில் தமிழீழ ஆதரவாளர் அமைப்பு நடத்திய மதுரை மாநாட்டில் வாஜ்பாய் உட்பட
பல அரசியல் தலைவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்ட மாநாட்டில இலங்கைத் தமிழர்களின் மூலாதார
முழக்கமான தமிழ் ஈழத்திற்கு ஆதரவு அளிக்கும் தீர்மானத்தை நிறைவேற்றினார்.
ஒரு நாள் பார்த்து தமிழீழம் கிடைத்தால் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைவேன் என்பார். அடுத்த நாள்
தமிழீழ விடுதலைப் போராட்டத்துக்க ஆதரவு இல்லை, ஆதரவை எப்போதோ திமுக விலக்கிக்
கொண்டு விட்டது என்பார். ஒரு நாள் பிரபாகரன் எனது நண்பர் என்பார். மறு நாள் அவர்
ஒரு பயங்கரவாதி, சர்வாதிகாரி, சகோதர யுத்தம் செய்தவர் என வசை பாடுவார்.
இன்று “இனித் தமிழ் ஈழம் பற்றிப் பேசி பயனில்லை, மாறாக தமிழர்களுக்கு சம உரிமை,
தமிழுக்கு சம தகுதி, தமிழர் வாழும் பகுதிகளுக்கு அதிகாரப்பகிர்வு போன்ற
கோரிக்கைகளையே வலியுறுத்த வேண்டும். தவிரவும் மனித உரிமை மீறல் குற்றங்களுக்காக
பன்னாட்டு அளவில் இலங்கை அதிபர் மகிந்த ராஜபக்ச மீது விசாரணை வேண்டும் என்பன போன்ற
வேண்டுகோள்களை முன்வைக்காமல், சிங்களவர்களுக்கு ஆத்திரமூட்டும் படி எதுவும்
பேசாமல், சிங்கள பவுத்த துறவிகள் கூட நம் மீது கோப அக்கினியை வீசக் கூடியவர்களாகவே
இருக்கிறார்கள், தமிழர்களுக்கு எந்தவித சேதாரமும் ஏற்படாத வகையில் நீக்குபோக்குடன்
நம்முடைய கருத்துக்களை தெரிவிக்க வேண்டும்” என்று முதல்வர் பேசியுள்ளார். பேசியது
சந்துமுனை அல்ல தமிழக சட்டமன்றம்!
மூன்று மணித்தியாலம் உண்ணாநோன்பு நோற்று “ராஜபக்ச போர் நிறுத்தத்தை
அறிவித்துவிட்டார்” என்று சொல்லி உண்ணா நோன்பை முடித்து சாதனை படைத்தவர் கருணாநிதி
ஒருவர்தான். அவரிடம் “இன்று காலையில் கூட விடுதலைப் புலிகள் மீது கன ரக ஆயுதங்களைப்
பயன்படுத்தி தாக்குதல் நடைபெற்றதாக செய்திகள் வந்திருக்கிறதே?” என்று
செய்தியாளர்கள் கேட்ட போது “ மழை விட்டும் தூவானம் விடவில்லை” என்று பதில் இறுத்தது
கடைந்தெடுத்த அயோக்கியத்தனம்!
தமிழ்நாட்டுக்கு அகதிகளாக ஓடிவந்த ஈழத் தமிழர்களை செங்கல்பட்டு மற்றும் பூந்தமல்லி
சிறப்பு முகாம்களில் ஆண்டுக்கணக்காக அடைத்துவைத்து அழகு பார்க்கும் ஒரே முதல்வர்
கருணாநிதிதான்!
இந்திய அரசினாலும் தமிழக அரசினாலும் ஈழத்தமிழ் அகதிகள் மிகக் கேவலமாக
நடத்தப்படுகிறார்கள். திபேத் ஏதிலிகளை வீடுகளில் குடிவைத்துவிட்டு தமிழ் அகதிகளை
மாட்டுத் தொழுவங்களில் அடைத்து வைத்திருக்கிறது இந்திய அரசு!
தமிழீழ மக்களுக்காகக் குரல் கொடுத்த தமிழ் உணர்வாளர்கள் இயக்குநர் சீமான்,
கொளத்தூர் மணி, தஞ்சை மணியரசன், நாஞ்சில் சம்பத், கோவை இராமகிருஷ்ணன் போன்றோரை
தேசியப் பாதுகாப்புச் சட்டத்தின் கீழ் கைது செய்து சிறையில் அடைத்தது அதிகார
வெறியல்லவா?
வெந்த புண்ணில் வேலைச் சொருகுவதில் முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி கெட்டிக்காரர். ‘‘இலங்கையில்
இப்போது சுமூக நிலை ஏற்பட்ட விட்டப் பிறகும் கூட அந்தச் சிக்கலைக் கிளறிவிட்டுக்

தேசியம், தன்னாட்சி உரிமை எதுவும் இல்லை என்று கூறித் தமிழர் தாயகத்தில் பெளத்த
விகாரைகளைக் கட்டி சிங்களவர்களைக் குடியேற்றி சிங்கள மயப்படுத்துவதற்குப் பெயர்
இயல்பு நிலையா? எது இயல்பு நிலை?
கொண்ட

UN Security Council Discussion on Sri Lanka’s
Civilian Killings in War Zone
Dear Your Excellency,
We write to register our disappointment and
consternation over the strenuous effort by China in blocking the move
spearheaded by Austria, Mexico and Costa Rica -- and backed by the United States
-- to bring the issue of civilian killings in the war-torn Vanni in North Sri
Lanka before the United Nations Security Council.
We are sure Chinese leaders are aware of the long
struggle for equal rights by Thamil people in Sri Lanka against oppression by
the majority Sinhalese based on ethnicity, language and religion.
Many get fooled in believing that Sri Lanka is a
democracy because of the trappings of parliament, multiple political parties,
periodical elections and an independent judiciary. However, real democracy is
not about parliament and elections, but how the national minorities are treated
in a multi-ethnic, multi-language and multi-cultural polity. What we get in Sri
Lanka is a majoritarian dictatorship riding roughshod over the rights of the
national minority Thamils who constitute a majority in the Northeast.
Sri Lanka's
leaders have doomed a country and a people once so full of promise to mindless
death and destruction, the worst of which may yet be to come.
The current military campaign by the Sri Lankan armed
forces has caused displacement of 400,000 Thamils from their homes.
As many as 300,000 Thamil civilians are caught
in a shrinking 30 sq. km strip still held by the Liberation Tigers of Thamil
Eelam (LTTE). Their plight in the so called "Save Zone" is
pathetic. Scores of people are dying every day because of the relentless bombing
from the skies and Multi Barrel Rocket Launchers (MBRLs)
firing thousands of shells day and night.
Relief Agencies like the ICRC have confirmed that civilians are being shelled by
government troops. To compound the misery of the people the Sri Lankan
government has blocked transport of food, medicine into the war zone.
After claiming "we don't count bodies," the UN has now
involuntarily
admitted that the "minimum
number of documented civilian casualties between January20, 2009 and March
7, 2009 in the conflict area of Mullaitivu Region is 9,924 casualties including
2,683 deaths and 7,241 injuries," in a
leaked document of the Office for the Coordination of
Humanitarian Affairs obtained by Inner City Press.
The Human Rights Watch
(HRW)
documented more than 3,750 extrajudicial killings, over 30,000 Tamils suffering
serious bodily injury, over 1.3 million displacements and in January and
February alone, over 2,300 Tamil civilians killed, 700 of them being children!
On December 8, 2008, 60th Anniversary
of the Genocide Convention, Genocide Prevention Project released a watch
list that gives .Sri Lanka as one of 8 countries on ''red alert'' for
genocide and ii.Palestinian territories among 25 countries of ''orange alert''
for genocide.
Ms. Anna Neistat,
Senior Researcher, HRW ‘‘The Sri Lankan government is
conducting a cynical campaign to prevent all independent public coverage of its
military operations and the plight of civilians caught up in the war.''
The United Nations High Commissioner
for Human Rights Navi Pillay recently warned that tactics by both the Sri
Lankan military and the Tigers "could amount to war
crimes and crimes against humanity."
It is a fear China should echo while there is still time to
avert a wholesale slaughter in Sri Lanka's death zone.
What we are
witnessing the barbaric slaughter of our people including indiscriminate
bombings and torture of innocent civilians even in the so called safe zones.
It is
most disheartening to see thousand of our mothers, fathers, sons, daughters,
brothers and sisters being brutally killed by the occupying Sri Lankan security
forces in the North enduring long and immense sufferings in the hands of the
Sinhalese chauvinism for more than six decades, particularly during the last
three years under the current regime, which is brutal and bloody to the Thamils.
The invasion of Sri Lankan
armed forces into Thamil homeland is reminiscent of the
Japanese Imperial Army marching in 1937 into China's capital city of Nanking and
proceeded to murder 300,000 out of 600,000 civilians and soldiers in the city.
The six weeks of carnage would become known as the Rape of Nanking and
represented the single worst atrocity during the World War II era in either the
European or Pacific theaters of war.
Therefore, we are appealing to China not to block UN
Security Council's discussion Sri Lanka’s killings of Thamil civilians in the
North. Thamils already feel hurt that Chinese arms, ammunition, military
hardware and soft loans are killing the Thamils in their hundreds.

Dear Sir,
We understand
from news stories the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) is negotiating with IMF a
$1.9 million bailout with IMF. In this connection we wish to bring to your
attention the mind-set of the failed Sri Lankan state and President Mahinda
Rajapakse who got elected on a narrow Sinhala – Buddhist supremacist theory.

The GoSL under Neo-Nazi militarist Mahinda Rajapakse is facing an
unprecedented financial crisis largely because of the genocidal war against the
Thamils costing S1.77 million in 2009.

Two years ago the IMF collected its baggage and left Sri Lanka
because of the hostile attitude of Rajapakse’s government.

GoSL is conducting a genocidal war,
defined as acts committed to destroy a

Sri Lanka armed forces have been firing into “safe zones”,
hospitals, and orphanages. It has also indiscriminately bombed schools, commerce
centres, temples and churches. The
Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse has claimed that hospitals are LEGITIMATE
MILITARY targets.

According to Red Cross (ICRC), “hundreds of people have been killed and
scores of wounded are overwhelming understaffed and ill-equipped medical
facilities in Sri Lanka’s northern Vanni region. Hospitals and ambulances have
been hit by shelling, and several aid workers have been injured while evacuating
the wounded. “The violence is preventing the ICRC from operating in the region,”
said Jacques de Maio, ICRC head of operations for South Asia in Geneva.

Voice of America (VoA) reports a food crisis among the quarter million
displaced persons in the combat zone, where the government rarely allows access
to UN and other aid groups, and the Council of NGOs of Mullaitivu District
reports similar shortages of blood and medical supplies. Latest reports claim
that some people died from starvation.

Human Rights Watch' (HRW) has said in a report released on 19th
February, 2009 that "Sri Lankan forces are shelling hospitals and so-called safe
zones and slaughtering the civilians there." James Ross, legal and policy
director at HRW added: "Sri Lankan forces have repeatedly and indiscriminately
shelled areas crowded with displaced persons. This includes numerous reported
bombardments of government-declared "safe zones" and of the remaining hospitals
in the region."

HRW places total civilian casualties at 7,000, with 2,000 deaths, in two
/ three weeks adding "information from other sources supports these findings."
"Added to this are the dire hardships faced by the displaced-insufficient food,
medical care, and shelter, whether in the combat zone or government-run 'welfare
villages'" HRW said.

who criticise the armed forces are traitors and treasonous.

Amnesty International has recently dubbed Sri Lanka one of the most
dangerous places in the world to report from.
Reporters Without Borders has ranked Sri Lanka 165 of 173 in its 2008
World Press Freedom Index, the lowest ranking of any democratic country in the
world. BBC Radio has suspended radio
broadcasting in Sri Lanka after numerous radio broadcasts were found to be
deliberately interfered. During the last 3 years 12 journalists have been
killed. The chief editor of Sunday Leader Lasantha Wickrematunga was killed in
broad day light on his way to office on January 08, 2009. Two days before the
Maharajah TV studios were torched by armed thugs who stormed the building. There
is total immunity for killers, abductors and arsonists.
The IMF, therefore, should forthwith reject the application for bail-out by the
criminal Rajapakse's government. You will agree the financial mess is entirely
self-made and self-inflicted. If the IMF, despite the overwhelming of evidence
of criminality, accedes to the request then it will be making the mistake
of aiding and abetting the criminal government of Rajapakse.

boisterous but peaceful black flag demonstration against the presence of

Member of Parliament of the ruling UPFA government at the
2008 CSL Awards Gala hosted by Can
Indo Lanka and held at Double
Tree International Hotel (No. 655 Dixon Road) on
March 28, 2008. Arjuna Ranatunga was billed as the Chief Guest at the event
which was supported by the Sri Lankan
High Commission

Speakers at the demonstration described Arjuna
Ranatunga as a vehement supporter of the National Patriotic Front (NPF) which is
a virulent Sinhala – Buddhist outfit consisting mainly of Buddhist Bhikkus. NPF
is also the front organization of another extremist party styled Jathika Vimukti
Peramuna (JVP). Shouts of
“Arjuna Ranatunga is a racist”
rent the air. 
Though the 2008 CSL Awards Gala event was
widely advertised to attract 500 guests only 60 attended the. In terms of
attendance the event was a fiasco. More than a dozen 23 Division Police with
back up vehicles were seen providing security inside and outside the Hotel
premises.
Addressing the demonstrators at the conclusion
of the protest rally Veluppillai
Thangavelu, President TCWA,
declared that through this demonstration Thamil Canadians want to send a
strong message to the Mahinda Rajapakse’s racist government that any attempt to
divide the Thamils and foist synthetic leadership on them will end in
failure. Not only the Thamils in Thamil Eelam, but also the entire Thamil
Diaspora are solidly behind the LTTE which is the vanguard force of our
liberation struggle.”
He appealed to Thamils in Diaspora to double
their efforts to help to win freedom for our people who are now reeling under
he jackboot of the Sinhala armed forces. Jaffna is an open prison occupied by
more than 50, 000 Sinhala soldiers. 
Speaking further Thangavelu accused the
government of President Mahinda Rajapakse of seeking a military solution by
invading Thamil homeland. The call by the international community to stop the
war and negotiate peace with the Liberation Tigers of Thamil Eelam (LTTE), the
authentic representative of the Thamil people, has been spurned by the
government. The Sinhala armed forces are using heavy multi-barrel artilleries
and Kfir fighter bombers to bomb and kill civilians and destroy their homes.
Thamil civilians are also subject to unlawful killings by government agents,
assassinations by unknown perpetrators, politically motivated killings,
involuntary disappearances, economic blockade, abductions for ransom by Para
military forces associated with the government, arbitrary arrests and indefinite
detentions, denial of fair public trial, infringement of freedom of movement
etc.
More than 5,000 Thamils have been killed since
President Rajapakse came to power in November, 2005. . In 2007 alone 1,000
Thamils have been killed by the Sinhala armed forces and the Quisling armed
groups operating along with the army. Four Thamil
National Alliance (TNA) Members
of Parliament have been assassinated by the army intelligence wing, 2 of them
inside places of worship! Sri Lanka is the only country that enjoys the dubious
distinction of bombing its own citizens on a daily basis under the guise of
fighting “terrorism!” “The Sri Lankan government is not only racist but fascist
as well” he concluded.

அண்ணா பேரவைத் தலைவர் மருத்துவர் அண்ணா பரிமளம் அவர்களது மறைவு
கேட்டு அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்தோம். பேரறிஞர் அண்ணாவின் நூறாண்டு நிறைவு விழாவை
சிறப்பாகக் கொண்டாட வேண்டும் என்று திட்டமிட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தவர் ஏன்
சாகத்துணிந்தார் என்பது தெரியவில்லை.
அண்ணாவின் பெயரைச் சொல்லிப் பதவிக்கு வந்தவர்கள் அண்ணா எழுதி
இதுவரை வெளிவராத கதைகள், கட்டுரைகளைப் பதிக்க வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணம் அடியோடு
இல்லாமல் இருகும் போது அந்தப் பணியை மருத்துவர் அண்ணா பரிமளம் தன்னந்தனியனாகச்

டக்லஸ் தேவானந்தா தமிழ்நாடு காவல்துறையால் கொலைக் குற்றம்
சாட்டப்பட்டு தேடப்பட்டு வரும் ஒரு கொலைக் குற்றவாளி ஆவார். 1986 இல் சென்னை,
சூளைமேட்டில் வைத்து அய்யாவு என்ற தலித் பட்டதாரியைச் சுட்டுக் கொலை செய்ததற்காக
கைது செய்து சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டவர். பின்னர் நீதிமன்றத்தால் பிணையில் விடப்பட்ட
போது தமிழ்நாட்டைவிட்டு ஓடி இலங்கைக்கத் தப்பிச் சென்றவர். எனவே அவர் ஒரு
தேடப்படும் கொலைக் குற்றவாளி ஆவார்.

விமலராசன் ஒக்தோபர் 19, 2000 இல் அவரது வீட்டில் வைத்து
ஆயுததாரிகளால் சுட்டுக் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டார்.

இபிடிபி ஆயுத கூலிக் குழுவைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள். அந்தக் கூலிக் குழுவைச் சேர்ந்த
டேவிட மைக்கல் கொலின்ஸ் கைது செய்யப்பட்டான். ஆனால் அவன் டக்லஸ் தேவானந்தாவின்
உதவியுடன் சட்டத்தின் பிடியில் இருந்து தப்பி இலண்டனுக்கு ஓடிவிட்டான். இவ்வாறான
சாமுத்திரிகா இலட்சணம் படைதத ஒருவரோடுதான் இந்திய அமைச்சர்களும் அதிகாரிகளும்
கைகுலுக்கி இனச் சிக்கல்பற்றி ஆலோசனை நடத்தியிருக்கிறார்கள்.
"சிறிலங்கா அரசியல் யாப்பின் 13
ஆம் சட்ட திருத்தத்தை நடைமுறைப்படுத்துவதனை வரவேற்கின்றோம் என்றும் சிறிலங்காவின்
அபிவிருத்திக்கு இந்தியா மேலதிகமாக உதவும்" என்ச் சிவசங்கர் மேனன்
கூறியிருக்கிறார்.
"இலங்கையின் வடக்கு-கிழக்குப் பிரதேசத்துக்கான அதிகாரப் பகிர்வுத்
திட்டம் விரைவில் நடைமுறைக்கு வரும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கிறோம். மேலும்
இனப்பிரச்சினைக்குத் தீர்வு காணபதில் பாரிய பங்களிப்பை இந்தியா செலுத்த உள்ளது"
என்று எம்.கே.நாராயணன் கூறியதாக டக்ளஸ் தேவானந்தா தரப்பில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
பகற்கனவு காணும் உரிமை எல்லோருக்கும் உண்டு. குறிப்பாக இந்திய நிதி
அமைச்சர் பா.சிதம்பரம், பாதுகாப்பு ஆலோசகர், எம்.கே. நாராயணன, வெளியுறவு
அமைச்சின் செயலாளர் சிவசங்கர் மேனன் ஆகியோருக்கு உண்டு.
13 ஆவது சட்ட திருத்தச் சட்டம் 20
ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னரே தமிழர் விடுதலைக் கூட்டணியைச் சேர்ந்த மிதவாதத் தமிழ்த்
தலைவர்களால் நிராகரிக்கப்பட்ட திருத்தமாகவும். அந்தத் திருத்தத்தின் கீழ் 1999 இல்
மாகாணசபைககு நடத்தப்பட்ட தேர்தலை தமிழர் விடுதலைக் கூட்டணி புறக்கணித்தது. அந்தச்
சட்ட திருத்தத்தை நடைமுறைப் படுத்தத்தான் இந்தியா இப்போது ஒற்றைக் காலில்
நிற்கிறது.
இருபது ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் மிதவாதத் தலைவர்களால் நிராகரிக்கப்பட்ட 13 ஆவது சட்ட திருத்தத்தை இருபது ஆண்டுகள் கழித்து நடைமுறைப் படுத்த இந்தியா
எத்தனிப்பது அறிவீனமாகும். அது வேதாளம் மீண்டும் முருக்கை மரத்தில் ஏறிய கதை
போன்றது. இந்த 20 ஆண்டு காலத்தில் விடுதலைக்குத் தமிழ் மக்கள் கொடுத்த விலை -
பலி கொடுத்த உயிர்கள் - சிந்திய குருதி - மிக மிக அதிகமாகும்.
கடந்த காலத்தில் இராசீவ் விட்ட வரலாற்றுத் தவறை மீண்டும் இந்தியா
செய்ய ஏன் ஒற்றைக் காலில் நிற்கிறது என்பது எமக்கு விளங்கவில்லை. மத்திய காங்கிரசின்
இந்த தமிழ் விரோதப் போக்குக்கு தமிழக முதல்வரும் காரணம் என நாம் நினைக்கிறோம்.
"இந்தியாவின் வெளியுறவுக் கொள்கை எதுவோ அதுவே திமுக வின்
வெளியுறவுக் கொள்கை" என்ற தமிழக முதல்வரின் குழந்தைத்தனமான அறிவிப்பின் வாயிலாக
தனது குடுமியை அவர் திலலிக்குக் கொடுத்துவிட்டார்.

INNOCENT THAMILS
The Thamil
Creative Writers Association (TCWA) and other community based organizations will
jointly stage a black flag demonstration on March 28, 2008 against the presence
of Arujuna Ranatunga, UPFA, M.P. and Chairman Sri Lanka Cricket Board in
Toronto. Through this demonstration we intend to expose President Mahinda’s
genocidal war on our land and our people taking refuge under the subterfuge of
fighting terrorism. He is deploying the Sinhala army to conquer the Thamil land,
impose dictated peace and thereafter exercise Sinhala hegemony over the Thamil
people. For the past 2 years our people are enduring death, destruction,
oppression, injustice and massive displacement resulting in immense human
misery.
Arjuna
Ranatunga has been invited by Can Indo Lanka for their 2008 CSL Awards Gala as
chief guest. This event is supported by Sri Lanka High Commission in Ottawa and
scheduled to be held at Double Tree International Hotel, 655 Dixon Road,
Toronto. Arjuna Ranatunga is a well known supporter of extreme Sinhala –
Buddhist outfit Deshapremi Janatha Viyaparaya (National Patriotic Front). The

Arjuna Ranatunga was one
of the prominent SLFP parliamentarians to join the anti-Thamil march at Kandy
against the alleged partition of the country on 23rd September 2003
organized by the Patriotic National Movement. The march commenced after
religious activities held in front of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, Kandy. said

DJV is a front organization of the
JVP that breaths fire and brimstone in support of total war to defeat the LTTE
militarily and capture Thamil homeland. Abrogation of the CFA was one of the
key demands put forward by the JVP to vote in favour of the third reading of the
budget on the 14th December, 2007 in parliament.
Arjuna Ranatunga bears
responsibility for his complicity in Mahinda Rajapakse’s genocidal war
against the Tamils. His hands are tainted with the blood of 5, 000
innocent Thamils killed by the Sinhala armed forces during the last two years.
In February alone, 48 Thamils have been killed, 29 abducted and 253 arrested
by the armed forces. More than 500,000 Thamils are languishing in refugee camps
in Northeast without adequate food, medicine and shelter.
Sri Lanka is being perennially
ruled under Emergency Regulations that vests sweeping powers to the armed forces
to detain without charge anyone suspected of terror activity. These Regulations
have been used almost exclusively against Thamils. Hundreds of Thamils have
been arrested and incarcerated in prisons in the South merely on the grounds of
ethnicity.
It is surprising the Canadian High
Commissioner in Colombo issued a visa to a warmonger like Arjuna Ranatunga while
denying visas to Thamil National Alliance MPs.
The
Human Rights Watch (HRW)
has slammed Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapaksa as
“one of the world’s
worst perpetrators of enforced disappearances."
According to Red Cross (ICRC) the
number of civilians killed and injured in Sri Lanka has reached "appalling
levels". A total of 180 civilians died in the first six weeks of 2008 and nearly
270 more were injured. More than 1,000 people have been killed since the
government withdrew from the ceasefire according to the military.

A damning report released by
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on March 11, 2008 cites unlawful killings
by government agents, assassinations by unknown perpetrators, politically
motivated killings and child soldier recruitment by paramilitary forces
associated with the Government, disappearances, arbitrary arrests and detention,
poor prison conditions, denial of fair public trial, Government corruption and
lack of transparency, infringement of religious freedom, infringement of freedom
of movement, and discrimination against minorities.
“There were numerous reports that the Army, Police, and pro-government
paramilitary groups participated in armed attacks against civilians and
practiced torture, kidnapping, hostage-taking, and extortion with impunity. The
situation deteriorated particularly in the Government-controlled Jaffna
peninsula. Government security forces used the broad 2005 emergency regulations
to detain civilians arbitrarily, including journalists and members of civil
society,” the highly critical report said.
President Mahinda Rajapakse is
refusing to investigate, prosecute and punish human rights violators. The many
ad hoc commissions of inquiry of the past two years have
accomplished nothing, while disappearances and political killings continue,
especially in the Jaffna peninsula. The military offensives launched by the
government have caused heavy loss of lives, social oppression, political
subjugation and economic deprivation. (AP - March 06, 2008)
Sri Lankan air-force is engaged in
carpet bombing of Vanni in which scores of infants, children and adults have
been killed. Killing Thamils by dropping cluster bombs have become a past time
for the Sinhala state.
The Jaffna District TNA parliamentarian,
K. Sivanesan was killed on March 06, 2008 in a claymore attack carried out by
the Sri Lanka Army Deep Penetration Unit on A-9 road. He is the fourth MP to be
assassinated after Mahinda Rajapakse came to power.
It is, therefore, no surprise that
Mahinda Rajapakse’s government is under attack for its badly dented human rights
credentials, corruption, subversion of the rule of law and prevalence of
impunity, suppression of media freedom, democratic norms and
myopic arrogance. There is growing compendium
of evidence that can be used to try Mahinda Rajapakse for war crimes.
We, therefore, call upon Thamil
Canadians to rally in their thousands to give vent to our anger, disgust and
outrage against both Arjuna Ranatunga and the blood-thirsty government of
Mahinda Rajapakse.

It is reported that Mr. Arjuna Ranatunga,
Chairman, Sri Lanka Cricket Board has applied for a visa to attend a function to
be held on March 2, 2008 at Double Tree International Hotel, Toronto. He has
been invited by Can Indo Lanka organization for their 2008 CSL Awards Gala as
the chief guest.
Mr. Arjuna Ranatunga is a UPFA Member of
Parliament and has identified himself with extreme Sinhala – Buddhist outfits
like the National Patriotic Front. A news item filed by Walter Jayawardhana
from Los Angeles appeared in Lanka Web reads as follows:
“In various interviews with the newspapers and
the BBC Arjuna Ranatunga said that hereafter he would keep on working for
progress of the Deshapremi Janatha Viyaparaya (DJV) the mass organization that

DJV is a front organization of the JVP which is breathing fire and
brimstone in support of an all out war, under the cloak of fighting terrorism,
to defeat the LTTE. Abrogation of the CFA was one of the key demands put
forward by the JVP to vote in favour of the third reading of the budget on
the 14th December, 2007 in
parliament.
The Human Rights Watch (HRW) has indicted Sri
Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapaksa as "once a rights advocate," has now led
his government to become "one of the world’s worst perpetrators of enforced

According to Red Cross (ICRC) the number of
civilians killed and injured in Sri Lanka has reached "appalling levels". A
total of 180 civilians died in the first six weeks of 2008 and nearly 270 more
were injured. More than 1,000 people have been killed since the government
withdrew from the ceasefire according to the military. (BBC - March 06, 2008)
The International Independent Group of Eminent
Persons (IIGEP) invited by Mahinda Rajapakse to monitor a government commission
investigating human rights abuses has resigned on Thursday (March 06, 2008) in
frustration over the government's lack of support.
GoSL is refusing to investigate, prosecute and
punish human rights violators. The many ad hoc commissions of inquiry of the
past two years have accomplished nothing, while disappearances and political
killings continue, especially in the Jaffna peninsula. The military offensives
launched by the government have caused heavy loss of lives, social oppression,
political subjugation and economic deprivation. (AP - March 06, 2008)
Opposition leader Wickremasinghe told a media
briefing on Wednesday (March 05) " that armed Thamil groups Pilliayan group,
EPDP, and a Muslim group mobilised by the government are in operation in the
East". Last month alone 48 Thamils have been killed, 29 abducted and 253
arrested by the armed forces.
The Jaffna District TNA parliamentarian, K.
Sivanesan was killed on March 06, 2008 in a claymore attack carried out by the
Sri Lanka Army Deep Penetration Unit on A-9 road, 30 minutes after he crossed
into Vanni through Omanthai / Puliyangkulam entry point.
Sri Lanka is being perennially ruled under Emergency Regulations that vests
sweeping powers to the armed forces to detain without charge anyone suspected of
terror activity. These Regulations have been used almost exclusively against
Thamils.
It is, therefore, no surprise that Mahinda Rajapakse’s government is
under attack for gross human rights abuses, corruption, subversion of the rule
of law, suppression of media freedom and democratic norms.
Mr. Ranatunga being part of the government shares responsibility for the
horrendous human rights violations of genocidal proportions committed against
the Thamil people.
In the circumstances, we urge you NOT to issue a visa to Mr. Arjuna
Ranatunga to visit Canada. To do so will
tarnish the image of Canada in the eyes of the democratic world.

“Liberal MP slammed for appearance at Tamil Tigers
rally."
Dear Hon. Minister,
National Post on March 07, 2009 carried a news story with the screaming
headline “Liberal MP slammed for appearance at Tamil Tigers rally." National
post is notorious for publishing news on Tamil Canadian issue which are
mostly false and baseless.
This headline is nothing surprising given the fact that National Post is
the mouth-piece of the Conservative Party. Like the Conservative Party the
National Post is paranoid about immigrants. A recent editorial referred to
the Thamil community as "immigrant community" despite the fact 95% of Thamils
are proud Canadian citizens.
Be that as may be the Hon. Minister of State seems to have got rattled by the
display of a simple national flag of the Thamil Nation because of the Tiger
symbol. During Question Period the Hon. Minister vented his anger by declaring
“I am sickened by the pandering of a Liberal member on the front lawn of
Parliament to a flagrant display of the symbols of a listed terrorist
organization.” Your reaction is quite understandable. You belong to a Party that
considered ANC as a terrorist organization and its leader Ex-President of South
Africa as a "terrorist." Members of your party shouted at Nelson Mandela on the
floor of the house calling him a “terrorist." The occasion was the conferring of
honourary citizenship to a statesman who walks the earth like a political giant
among pigmies.
Just under 2 months more than 2200
have been killed and 8250 injured in Vanni war zone. Thamil civilians are
getting slaughtered every day in Vanni like cattle. Sri Lankan supersonic
fighter planes are dropping cluster bombs and occasionally phosphorous bombs
that burn for hours. Sri Lanka Sinhala army is also firing artillery shells
using Multi Barrel Rocket Launchers (MBRLs) that have a range of 39-40 km,
fire a salvo of 12 HE rockets in under 40 seconds, with a beaten zone of 3.9
square kilometres. Daya Perera, Sri Lanka High Commissioner for Canada with
tongue in cheek claimed that his “government was not fighting the Tamil nation,
just the LTTE, and that "the only Tamils that have been killed are the
LTTE Tamils." (Feb.

Doctors have issued warning
of a serious shortage of food and medicines in the Vanni causing starvation and
death. Food/aid convoys only trickle into the war zone.
GoSL has expelled UNHCR, WFP, Oxfam and many other
INGOs and their staff out of Vanni. It has also barred Journalists, Diplomats
and Human Rights monitors from going to the battle zone in the Vanni.
Sri Lanka armed forces have been firing into “safe zones”, hospitals, and
orphanages. It has indiscriminately bombed schools, commerce centres, temples
and churches. The Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse claimed that hospitals
are LEGITIMATE MILITARY targets. Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs strongly
condemned the attacks on the hospital and the safe zone.
The UN also claimed Wednesday that troops have used cluster munitions during
attacks in the war zone. This is the first time the Sri Lankan military has been
accused of using the weapon which can cause damage to a large area.
As well, many of the bomblets do not immediately explode, which means civilians
can sustain injuries long after the fighting ends. (CTV.ca News Staff –

Canada’s demand to see an immediate ceasefire and a political settlement to the
conflict has been summarily rejected by Sri Lankan government.
According to Red Cross (ICRC), “hundreds of people have been killed and scores
of wounded are overwhelming understaffed and ill-equipped medical facilities in
Sri Lanka’s northern Vanni region. Hospitals and ambulances have been hit by
shelling, and several aid workers have been injured while evacuating the
wounded. “The violence is preventing the ICRC from operating in the region,”
said Jacques de Maio, ICRC head of operations for South Asia in Geneva.
Since you were a journalist/broadcaster who spent more than 40 years working
as a writer, reporter, producer, anchor and covered stories that shaped the 20th
century, including momentous events such as the Yom Kippur War, the fall of the
Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War before you jumped into the murky waters
of politics I wish to remind you of the absence of media freedom in Sri Lanka.
During the last 3 years, 14 journalists (12 Thamils and 2 Sinhalese) have been
killed. The latest victim P.Sathyamoorthy died in a motor - shell attack in
Vanni. On January 08, 2009 the Chief Editor of the popular Sunday Leader
Lasantha Wickrematunge was shot dead on his way to office by 4 assassins who
came on motor-cycles in broad day light in the heart of Colombo. Two days
before a Thamil owned Maharajah TV complex was attacked and burnt by armed thugs
wielding AK-47 rifles. In none of these killings the perpetrators have been
apprehended or charged in a court of law.
Four Thamil journalists have been arrested under Emergency laws for writing
perceived pro-LTTE news columns. They are locked up in prisons for more than
13 months. On February 27, 2009 the editor of Suder Oli and Uthayan newspapers
N.Vithyatharan was initially abducted by police who came (some in civil) and
later arrested for undisclosed reasons.
Regrettably the Hon. Minister of State is blindly living in the failed world
doctrine of "war on terror" an obsession suffered by ex-President George Bush
who enjoys the dubious distinction of being the worst president US ever had.
Perhaps it is appropriate to remind the Hon. Minister what President Barack
Obama said on the question of terrorism.
Characterizing the conflict in Sri Lanka as a "vicious civil war,"
Senator Barack Obama, a leading Democratic contender in America's forth coming
2009 Presidential Elections, said during an interview that, "the problem of
the 21st century is the problem of the other.
He described this phenomenon as the inability of people to accommodate others
"who are not like us," and mentioned Sri Lanka as an example, pointing out
that war rages even when "everybody there looks exactly the same."
Obama also criticized the Bush administration's "war on terror" as
the cause for suppressing civil liberties, saying: "Part of my job as next
president is to break the fever of fear that has been exploited by this
administration. We are told to be afraid of terrorists, immigrants, and each
other. This becomes the means, by which our civil liberties are subverted, [and]
our values are distorted," implying policy changes are in order. Front
which pontificates to the rest of the world about the need to resolve conflicts
through negotiations and the virtue of unity has suffered a debilitating split.

President Obama has already translated his words into deeds when he ordered
the closure of the notorious concentration camps in Guantanamo.
Secretary of State Madam Hillary Rodham Hillary was more explicit. In an
interview she gave to Michael Tomasky of Guardian Co. UK on
(Tuesday ) 23 October 2007 asked her about Iraq, the legacy of the Cold War,
and ceding executive powers. He posed a specific question about terrorists and
terrorism. Here is the question and the answer.
Question: Yeah. Do you think that the terrorists hate us for our freedoms, or do
you think they have specific geopolitical objectives?
Answer: Well, I believe that terrorism is a tool that has been utilized
throughout history to achieve certain objectives. Some have been ideological,
others territorial. There are personality-driven terroristic objectives. The
bottom line is you can't lump all terrorists together. And I think we've got to
do a much better job of clarifying what are the motivations, the raisons d'être
of terrorists. I mean, what the Tamil Tigers are fighting for in Sri Lanka,
or the Basque separatists in Spain, or the insurgents in al-Anbar province
may only be connected by tactics. They may not share all that much in terms of
what is the philosophical or ideological underpinning. And I think one of our
mistakes has been painting with such a broad brush, which has not been
particularly helpful in understanding what it is we were up against when it
comes to those who pursue terrorism for whichever ends they're seeking.
Therefore, the Hon. Minister and his government are on the wrong side of
history. Whether the Conservative government will learn the lessons from history
is a doubtful proposition given its mind-set.
The Conservative government ill-advised decision to ban the LTTE in 2006 and the
WTM in 2008 emboldened the racist Sri Lankan government to abrogate the CFA and
launch a full scale military invasion of Thamil homeland that had uprooted over
350,,000 Thamil civilians from their homes and farms.
Sadly, the blood of the innocent Thamils spilled in Vanni is on the hands of
the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister for Public
Safety.
To berate Thamils for carrying their national flags is tantamount to asking
Christians not to carry the Holy Cross or Hindus not to apply the Holy Ash!
Finally, let me conclude with the popular adage "Poor man’s war is terrorism
and rich man’s terror is war.”

மாமனிதர் சிவநேசன் பயணித்த வண்டியே குறி வைத்துத் தாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. எனவே அவரது
கொலை முன்கூட்டியே நன்கு திட்டமிட்டுச் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. அவரைக் கொலை செய்யக்
கடந்த மாதம் கூட ஒரு முயற்சி மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது. ஆனால் அது தோல்வியில் முடிந்தது.
கடந்த பெப்ரவரி 19 ஆம் நாள் அவர் வன்னியில் இருந்து கொழும்புக்குப் பயணம் செய்த போது
சிங்களப் படையினர் அவரை மதவாச்சியில் தடுத்து வைத்து அவர் பயணித்த வண்டியை மோப்ப
நாய்களை விட்டுச் சோதனை செய்தார்கள். அதையிட்டு மாமனிதர் சிவநேசன் நாடாளுமன்றத்தில்
உரிமை மீறல் பற்றிப் பேசினார். இவை சிங்களப் படையின் சினத்தைக் கிளறிவிட்டிருக்கிறது
என்பதில் அய்யமில்லை.
ஆட்சியாளர் மகிந்தா இராசபக்சே காட்டாச்சி நடத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். அவரால்
மக்களாட்சி ஆழக் குழிதோண்டி நீளப் புதைக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. சட்டத்தின் முன்
எல்லோரும் சமம் என்ற கோட்பாடு காலில் போட்டு மிதிக்கப்படுகிறது. குற்றவாளிகள்
நீதிக்கு முன் நிறுத்தப்பட்டு தண்டனை வழங்கப்படுவதில்லை. மாறாக குற்றவாளிகள்
தப்பித்து விடுகிறார்கள்.தமிழர்கள் மீது அவசரகாலச் சட்டம் கேட்டுக் கேள்வியின்றிப்
பாயவிடப்படுகிறது. தமிழ் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்களுக்கே பாதுகாப்பு இல்லாத ஒரு
பயங்கர நிலை தோன்றியுள்ளது.
மாமனிதர் சிவநேசன் தமிழ்த் தேசியத்தை மனம், மொழி, மெய் மூன்றாலும் ஆழமாக நேசித்தவர்.
காட்சிக்கு எளியவர். எல்லோரோடும் இனிமையாகப் பழகியவர். எல்லோராலும் நல்லவர் வல்லவர்
என்று பாராட்டப் பெற்றவர். நல்ல தமிழ்ப் பேச்சாளர். அவர் அநியாயமாகக் கொல்லப்பட்டது
எம்மை ஆறாத துயரத்தில் ஆழ்த்தியுள்ளது.
மாமனிதர் சிவநேசனை இழந்து மீளாத சோகத்தில் ஆழ்ந்துள்ள அவரது மனைவி பிள்ளைகளுக்கும்
பெரியண்ணன் மகேஸ்வரராசாவின் குடும்பத்தினருக்கும் எமது ஆழ்ந்த ஒத்துணர்வைத்
தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம்.
தமிழ்மக்களது துன்பம், துயரம், அல்லல், அவலம், கண்ணீர், கவலை எல்லாவற்றிற்கும்
முடிவு கட்ட ஒரே வழிதான் இன்று எம்முன் உண்டு. தமிழீழ விடுதலைப் போருக்கு நாம்
எல்லோரும் தோள்கொடுத்து அதனை வெகு விரைவில் வென்றெடுக்க வேண்டும்.

13th Amendment - India Repeating The Same Historical Mistake
Dear Hon.
Minister,
Recently the Hon.Minister told parliament, inter alia,
“The interests of ethnic Thamils in Sri Lanka as well as in Malaysia mattered
to Delhi. The way forward lies in a peacefully negotiated settlement within the
framework of a united Sri Lanka acceptable to all communities, including the
Thamils. India was concerned about the recent violence in that nation and was
"closely monitoring" the developments. India has welcomed the "declared
intention" of Sri Lanka to fully implement the 13th Amendment, a move that could
give a degree of autonomy to Thamil-dominated regions in that country.”
While we appreciate your sentiments, the fact remains the 13th
Amendment is a ploy by President Mahinda Rajapakse to hoodwink the international
community that pressed for political proposals to solve the conflict. Faced with
a deadline (January 23rd, 2008) Mahinda Rajapakse forced the Chairman
of the APRC to immediately submit the 13th
Amendment as demanded by him. A humiliated Chairman then said “I as
chairman, together with the rest of the APRC, had little option but to accede to
his request."
The Chairman, APRC further confessed “I could have
acted differently. But under the circumstances I hope the people of Sri Lanka as
well as those abroad who are interested in the future of our country will
understand the circumstances which have led me to follow the course that the
APRC has now taken."
So, APRC proposals were an “imposition” by the
President Mahinda Rajapakse and the Chairman, APRC simply caved in.
Understandably, he could not stand up to a powerful executive
President.
Twenty years ago the TULF stated in writing to the
then Indian Prime Minister that “These proposals do not meet the aspirations of
the Thamil people are in anyway, commensurate with the loss of life,
sufferings and privations suffered by the Thamil people. Since 1983, the TULF
has always negotiated with the GoSL directly, utilising the good offices of the
Government of India, and through the GoI in the hope of evolving a comprehensive
scheme of devolution which the TULF could commend to the Thamil people. The TULF
regrets it cannot recommend the contents of these Bills to the Thamil people as
being satisfactory, just and durable.” Because the 13th Amendment is not
workable and will never be a success, the TULF
did not contest the provincial council elections .
Twenty years later the TNA leader R.Sampanthan, MP
speaking in parliament declared “they will not touch the 13th
Amendment even with the wrong end of a barge pole.”
He asked the government to “stop this game of playing
dirty tricks, come clean, be candid, be honest, be genuine, be straightforward -
come up with a solution that would really be a solution to this conflict which
has caused much human suffering to all people in this country.”
Therefore, the decision of your government
welcoming the 13th Amendment as a first step “that could give
a degree of autonomy to Thamil-dominated regions in that country” is unwise and
misplaced. India is repeating the same historical mistake. This
has only helped President Mahinda Rajapakse to gain plenty of breathing space to
prosecute total war against the Thamil people under the cloak of eliminating
terrorism. With India on Rajapaksa’s side, there will not be much International
pressure, even on human rights violations, beyond pious statements.
In effect India has thrown a life-line to Mahinda Rajapakse who is under
attack for gross human rights abuses, corruption, subversion of the rule of law
and democratic norms. No wonder India kept aloof even at the time
when abductions, disappearances and extortions in Colombo were at a peak with
Thamil businessmen of Indian origin falling victim.
The GoSL has reversed the Northeast
merger, a key element in the Indo – Ceylon pact, taking cover under the
Supreme Court verdict that the executive fiat is null and void. When Opposition
UNP made an offer to support an amendment to the constitution to re-merge the
two provinces the government spurned it.
The 13th Amendment enacted in 1987 has been truncated subsequently by
withdrawal of police powers and powers over land alienation from the Provincial
Councils.
The Thamil people since 1956 have historically given
mandates at every election where they have stood for genuine autonomy, genuine
self rule in the areas of their historical habitation.
Mr. Richard Boucher, the Under-Secretary of the United
States for South Asia has called for radical changes in the structure of
Government, genuine autonomy, which would give the Thamils and the Muslims
the right of self rule. Self rule is not possible under the present highly
centralized unitary constitution.
Therefore, the 13th Amendment is no where close to
what the international community has contemplated. Mr. Rajmohan Gandhi, a very
distinguished. journalist and author when asked in the course of a
recent interview "What lessons do you think
Sri Lanka can learn from the asymmetrical devolution
model now in place in India?" he replied
"If autonomy is genuine it will work. But if
an offer of autonomy is mainly a facade it will not work, but if the majority
groups and now I'm speaking globally of all countries, if governments are
willing to give genuine autonomy to distinct groups that can go a long way, but
it has to be a genuine offer, and it has to be an offer supported by the people
of the majority group as well, not just the political parties." (The Sunday

colleague Hon. P. Chidambaram, Minister of Finance for India has expressed
similar views. He told BBC "India has emphasised that the ethnic conflict in
Sri Lanka, arising out of a sense of discrimination and a sense of negation of
cultural, linguistic and human rights should be resolved through a negotiated
political settlement that includes a credible devolution of powers".(BBC

India should understand the nature of the Sri Lankan state which is
theocratic, despotic, un –democratic and unitary while India is secular and
quasi-federal with 28 linguistic - based States and 7 Union Territories.
Unfortunately, India has remained a silent
spectator to the horrendous human rights violations committed in the Northeast
of Ceylon.
Aerial bombardment of heavily built residential areas, enforced disappearances,
abductions for ransom and execution style killings by the military have become
everyday routine. The rule of law continues to be undermined and the
culture of impunity persists at all levels of government. GoSL has
consistently failed to conduct credible investigations to bring violators to
justice. On the contrary, the GoSL had deliberately obstructed course of
justice and shown not so much the lack of capacity but the requisite will to
safeguard the rights of all its citizens.
It is
justifying extra-judicial killings and disappearances as part of a brutal
and counterproductive counter-insurgency campaign.
Human Rights
Watch (HRW) has dubbed the Sri Lanka's government as one of the
world's worst perpetrators of enforced disappearances.
In its report
HRW has accused the security forces and pro-government militias of
abducting and "disappearing" hundreds of people - mostly Thamils - since 2006.
HRW said the majority of cases "indicate the involvement of government
security forces - army, navy or police". (BBC - March 06, 2008)
According to Red Cross (ICRC) the number of civilians
killed and injured in Sri Lanka has reached "appalling levels". A total
of 180 civilians died in the first six weeks of 2008 and nearly 270 more were
injured. More than 1,000 people have been killed since the government withdrew

The International Independent Group of Eminent Persons (IIGEP) invited
by Mahinda Rajapakse
to monitor a government commission investigating human rights abuses has
resigned on Thursday (March 06, 2008) in frustration over the government's
lack of support. Among the 16 cases under investigation were the
execution-style slaying of 17 aid workers in 2006 in Mutur, an air strike that
killed 61 school girls between the ages of 16 and 18 .and the shooting of
5 students by Sri Lanka Special Forces in Trincomalee on January 02, 2006.
Incidentally the IIGEP was chaired by Mr.

pposition leader Wickremasinghe told a media briefing on Wednesday
(March 05) " that armed Thamil groups Pilliayan group, EPDP, and a
Muslim group mobilised by the government are in operation in the East".
Last month alone 48 Thamils have been killed, 29
abducted and 253 arrested by the armed forces.
As we write news reports say that Jaffna District TNA
parliamentarian, K. Sivanesan was killed today in a claymore attack
carried out by the Sri Lanka Army Deep Penetration Unit on A-9 road, 30 minutes
after he crossed into Vanni through Omanthai / Puliyangkulam entry point.
Sri Lanka is being perennially ruled under Emergency Regulations that
vests sweeping powers to the armed forces to detain without charge anyone
suspected of terror activity. These Regulations have been used almost
exclusively against Thamils.
GoSL is refusing to investigate, prosecute and punish human rights violators.
The many ad hoc commissions of inquiry of the past two years have
accomplished nothing, while disappearances and political killings continue,
especially in the Jaffna peninsula. The military offensives launched by
the government first in the East and now in the North have caused heavy loss of
lives, social oppression, political subjugation and economic deprivation. (AP -

Despite the damning evidence and charges of human rights abuses against
the Sri Lankan government, India unashamedly continues to defend Sri Lanka at
the United Nations Commission on Human Rights sessions held in
Geneva.
President Mahinda Rajapakse has buried the CFA and made the APRC dysfunctional.
The mindless withdrawal from the CFA, at the behest of the JVP, has opened the
floodgates of civilian killings both in the North and the South.
All this is proof that predators are masquerading as liberators. Mahinda
Rajapakse has no stomach “for a peacefully negotiated settlement.” He opposed
the 13th Amendment tooth and nail while in the opposition.
We appeal to the government of India to re-think, re-view, re-orientate
and re-shape its foreign policy options vis-à-vis
Sri Lanka at the earliest opportunity.

Thamils Lost Their Freedom
February 4th is again a
grim reminder to the Thamils that they lost their political freedom on this
Black Day 60 years ago. It is the day Sinhala hegemonic rule was imposed on the
unsuspecting Thamils by ungrateful Sinhalese leaders.
The hopes of the Thamil people that they will be treated on
equal terms within a multi-ethnic, multi-linguistic, multi-religious and
multi-cultural polity in which they will find the political space to live in
freedom and dignity have been rudely shattered. Over the years, Thamils have
been brutally reduced to the status of third class citizens by depriving them
of their basic human rights. A million Hill country Thamils lost their
citizenship and franchise rights in 1948/49.
Through systematic state- sponsored Sinhalese colonization
of our traditional Thamil homeland, the demographic composition of the Northeast
has been drastically altered in favour of the Sinhalese. This process has been
accelerated now as never before. Recent de-merger of Northeast and demarcation
of Trincomalee district as a separate unit to be administered direct from
Colombo are covert moves to complete the process of Sinhalization of Northeast
and nullify Thamils of the concept of homeland.
Thamils in
Northeast continue to be oppressed under the jackboot of an occupation army.
Aerial bombing, artillery shelling, abductions, assassinations, involuntary
disappearances, arrests, cordon and search operations are taking place
routinely.
On January 16,
2008 the 6 year- old CFA signed between the LTTE and the GOSL was
unceremoniously buried by President Mahinda Rajapakse in keeping with his pan
Sinhala - Buddhist “Mahinda Chinthanaya.” The unilateral
abrogation of the CFA has shut the door for peace and escalated the ethnic war.
Since his
assumption of power, Mahinda Rajapakse is working to an
extremist military agenda formulated by the JVP and hawks in the defence
establishment for mere political survival. After “liberating” the East,
Rajapakse has now promised to liberate the North soon.
Jaffna
peninsula is an open prison for Thamils now. More than 60,000 strong Sinhala
army has imposed military rule over 350,000 Thamils. On an average 5 civilians
are killed daily by the Sinhala army and the Para-military squads operating
along with it.
The Sinhala
armed forces have mounted attacks from several fronts to capture Vanni before
the year is out. Aerial bombardment and artillery shelling have
escalated causing loss of lives and destruction of property. Several thousand
families have been displaced.
More than 150,
000 Thamils displaced in the East during army military operations are still
waiting re-settlement. Thamil families in Sampur and adjoining villages have
been driven out permanently from their homes to create HSZ.
GoSL uses or
rather misuses a myriad of draconian laws in its armory to harass, bully and
incarcerate Thamils merely on grounds of ethnicity. The price
the nation is paying at the altar of political expedience, ethnic fanaticism,
and religious and language frenzy is colossal.
Unfortunately,
the international community including Canada, apart from issuing pious press
releases is practically remaining dumb, deaf and blind to the attack on rule of
law and threat to media freedom.
Mahinda
Rajapakse has left no one in doubt in regard to his intention to seek a military
solution to the ethnic conflict while occasionally mouthing peace to hoodwink
others! The escalation of defence expenditure is clear confirmations of an all
out war against Thamils. Thamil people should be under no illusion that
Rajapakse’s regime is hell-bent to impose Sinhala hegemony over them.
Mahinda
Rajapakse to fool the international community wants to implement the 13th
amendment enacted in 1987 which was rejected by the Thamil people.
On this Black
Day, Thamils should firmly resolve to help create the state Thamil Eelam in
which our people will live in freedom, liberty and security.
