தமிழர்களுடைய வரலாற்றை புரட்டிப் பார்்தால் தமிழர்கள் மத்தியில் ஒற்றுமை இல்லாத காரணத்தால் நாடும் அரசும் இழந்து  தாழ்ந்து போனார்கள்.  ஏன் அழிந்து போனார்கள் என்றே சொல்லலாம். பல்லவர், சேர, சோழ, பாண்டியர்கள் எதிரியிடம்  மோதியதைவிட தங்களுக்குள் மோதிய வரலாறே அதிகம். பிற்கால சோழர்கள் பாண்டியர்களையும் சேரர்களையும் புறங்கண்டு சோழப் பேரரசை நிறுவினார்கள். பின்னர் 13 ஆம நூற்றாண்டில் பாண்டியர்கள் சோழப் பேரரசை வீழ்த்தி பழி தீர்த்துக் கொண்டார்கள்.  ஆறு பேர் ஒரே சமயத்தில் பாண்டிய நாட்டை ஆண்ட பரிதாப  நிலையும் இருந்தது. ஆட்சியின் காரணமாக அண்ணன் தம்பி,தந்தை மகன் ஆகியவர்களுக்கு இடையே சண்டைகள் நடந்தன மேலும் ஆட்சிக்காக தந்தையை மகன் கொன்ற சம்பவங்களும் இடம் பெற்றன. வீரபாண்டியன் தன்னுடைய உடன்பிறப்பு சுந்தரபாண்டியனைத் தோற்கடித்து தந்தையையும் கொன்றான். அஞ்சி ஓடிய சுந்தரபாண்டியன் தில்லி சென்று அலாவுதீன் கில்ஜியின் உதவியை நாடினான். மாலிக்காபூர் படையோடு வந்து வீரபாண்டியனைத் தோற்கடித்து சுந்தரபாண்டியனை அரியணையில் இருத்தினான். பின்னர் பராக்கிராமபாண்டியன் ஆட்சிக்கு வந்தான். கியாசுதீனின்  மகனான உலூக்கானைனப் படைத்தலைவன் பாண்டிநாட்டு மீது படையெடுத்து வந்து பராக்கிரம பாண்டியனைத் தோற்கடித்துச் சிறையில் அடைத்தான். இவ்வாறு பாண்டிய நாடு தில்லி சுல்தானின் ஆட்சிக்கு உள்ளானது.

தமிழகத்தில் ஊடுருவிய சைவம்,  வைணவம், பவுத்தம், சமணம் தங்களுக்குள் முட்டிமோதி தமிழ் இனத்தை சமய அடிப்படையில் பிரித்து   வலுவிழக்கச் செய்தன.  தமிழர்களை சாதிகளாகப் பிரித்த சைவமும் வைணமும் தமிழ் இனத்தை மேலும் பலவீனப்படுத்தியது. 

இப்போது கலைஞர் கருணாநிதி சோழனுக்கும் மருத்துவர் இராமதாஸ்  பாண்டியன் இருவருக்கும்  நடைபெறும் நிழல் யுததம் தமிழினத்தைக் கூறுபோட்டு வலுவிழக்கச் செய்யும்.  ஊர் இரண்டு பட்டால் கூத்தாடிக்குத்தான் இலாபம் என்பதுபோல ஜெயலலிதா, துக்ளக்  சோ, இந்து ராம்  போன்ற தமிழ்ப் பகைவர்கள்தான்  திமுக -பாமக மோதலால் பலன் அடைவார்கள்.  இந்தப் பின்புலத்தில் சிறுத்தைகள் அமைப்பின் பொதுச்செயலர் தொல். திருமாவளவன் முனெடுக்கும் தூது வரவேற்கத்தக்கது.   ஆறு மாதங்களுக்கு முன் நடந்த ஒரு சம்பவத்தை திமுக இப்போது தோண்டி எடுத்திருக்க வேண்டியதில்லை.

 

 

இராஜீவ் காந்தியின் உயிர் வெல்லம இந்திய அமைதிப் படையால் கொல்லப்பட்ட. கற்பழிக்கப்பட்ட, சித்திரவதை செய்யப்பட்ட தமிழீழத் தமிழர்களது உயிர்கள் மண்ணாங்கட்டி என்று நினைப்பது தவறு.
 

இராஜீவ் காந்தி கொல்லப்பட்டதற்கு அரவது முட்டாள்த்தனமான வெளியுறவுக் கொள்கையே காரணம் ஆகும்.

 

1989 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் 2-4 வரையுள்ள ன்று நாள்களிலும் வல்வெட்டித்துறையில் இந்திய இராணுவம் நடத்திய படுகொலைகள் வரலாறு காணாத துன்பியல் ஆகும்.
 

1989 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்டு மாதம் 2 ஆம் நாள் வல்வெட்டித்துறை சந்தைச் சதுக்கத்தில் காலை 11 மணிக்கு யாரும் எதிர்பாராத விதமாக விடுதலைப் புலிகளுக்கும் இந்திய இராணுவத்திற்கும் இடையே மோதல் ஏற்பட்டது. அதில் 6 இந்தியப் படை வீரர்கள் இறந்ததுடன் 11 பேர் காயம் அடைந்தனர்.

இதனை அடுத்து இந்தியப் படை பிரபாகரனின் சொந்த ஊரான வல்வெடித்துறைக் கிராமத்தைச் சேர்ந்த 63   க்கும் அதிகமான ஆண்கள், பெண்கள், குழந்தைகள் ஆகியோரைக் கொன்றதோடு அந்த ஊருக்குத் தீ வைத்து வீடு வாசல்களை எரித்தது. மொத்தம் 123 வீடுகள் அடியோடு நாசமாக்கப்பட்டன. 45 கடைகள் முழுமையாக எரிக்கப்பட்டுச் சாம்பலாயின. 12 மீன்பிடிப் படகுகள் நாசம் செய்யப்பட்டன. 176 மீன்பிடி வலைகள் எரிக்கப்பட்டன. பல வீடுகளில் தங்க நகைகள் பணம் மின்னணுப் பொருள்கள் இந்திய இராணுவத்தினரால் கொள்ளையடிக்கப்பட்டன. ஏராளமான பெண்கள் மிக மோசமான முறையில் கற்பழிக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

இந்தக் கொலைகளை  முன்னாள் பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சர் யோர்ஜ் பெர்னான்டஸ் "வியட்நாமின் மைலா" என வருணித்துள்ளார்.

 

யாழ்ப்பாணம் மருத்துவமனையில் பணியில் இருந்து 3 மருத்துவர்கள், 4 செவிலியர்கள் உட்பட 21 பணியாளர்கள் இந்திய இராணுவத்தினால் கண்மூடித்தனமாகச் சுட்டுக் கொல்லப்பட்டார்கள்.  (ஆனந்தவிகடனில் வந்த செய்திக்குப் பதில் - யூன் 10,2008)

 

 

 


இந்தியப் படை உள்ளே சுட்டுக்கொண்டே வந்தபோது மாடி அறை ஒன்றில் இருந்த டாக்டர்கள் இந்த ஒலி கேட்டுக் கீழே இறங்கி வந்து கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். 'இது மருத்துவமனைஇ நாங்கள் டாக்டர்கள்" என அவர்கள் அலறியதற்கு இந்தியப் படை செவிசாய்க்கவில்லை. மாடிப்படிகளிலேயே அவர்களைச் சுட்டுத் தள்ளினார்கள். மருத்துவமனையின் பல பகுதிகளில் கண்மூடித்தனமாகத் துப்பாக்கியால் சுட்டார்கள். 

நோயாளிகள் மற்றும் பொதுமக்கள் 109 பேர் சுட்டுக் கொல்லப்பட்டார்கள். அந்த மருத்துவமனையில் 89 ஆகிய இரண்டு பிரிவுகள் முழுமையாகச் சேதம் அடைந்துவிட்டன. .

1975 ஆம் ஆண்டு நிடத்தப்பட்ட அவசரகாலக் கொடுமைகளுக்கு 1980ஆம் ஆண்டு பிரதமர் இந்திரா மன்னிப்புக் கேட்டார்.
 

1984 ஆம் ஆண்டு நிடைபெற்ற சீக்கியர்கள் படுகொலை நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு 2005 ஆம் ஆண்டு பிரதமர் மன்மோகன்சிங் மன்னிப்புக் கேட்டார்.
 

1989ஆம் ஆண்டு இலங்கை சென்ற இந்திய அமைதிப்படை செய்த கொலைகளுக்கு கற்பழிப்புக்கு  ஏன் யாரும் மன்னிப்புக் கேட்கவில்லை? தமிழர்களது உயிர்கள் அவ்வளவு மலிவானவையா? 

 

இந்திய இராணுவக் காட்டுமிராண்டிகளால் கற்பழிக்கப்பட்ட தானு என்ற பெண்ணே இராஜிவ் காந்தியைக் கொலை செய்து பழி தீர்த்துக் கொண்டார். இதுதான் உண்மை.

You are free to consider me as a RAW agent though let me reiterate for one more time that it is not at all true. And to brand every independent analyst as an agent of one person or another is again a part of a mindset -- that "if you are not with me, you are against me!"
 
Please credit yourself with greater intelligence to be able to distinguish between paid agents of one side or another to any conflict, and one whose views may be independent and still could be "tilted" in the eyes of one or the other party to an issue such as this. It does not help anyone to brand anyone else, again in a situation such as this.
 
As I have repeatedly mentioned in our on-again-off-again mails, I am all for fellow-Tamils in Sri Lanka getting their legitimate due that has been snatched away from them. I have also nothing against the LTTE and Prabhakaran. If anything, I have had equal admiration for them both, but viewing the emerging scenario from the outside, I have a perception that is entirely different from what you may have as someone deeply involved and committed to the cause.
 
I do agree to many of the points you have mentioned, including the Kattanayake I attack, and the arms-acquisition during the CFA. TheLTTE's capture of Elephant Pass, was, yes, historic, and highly commendable in the annals of war anywhere. I have not contested them, either. As for the 'smoke screen' part, it's limited only to the Rajiv Gandhi assassination and Amirthalingam killing.
 
As for the LTTE's appeal to the Tamils of Tamil Nadu, I was only writing about how it would and could be construed -- other than to the fact that it has had lukewarm response in the State. Let me tell you as someone living in India, and an Indian at heart -- it is not just the 'Rajiv Gandhi assassination' that made the change. It was the beginning of a change that the assassination may have initiated.
 
Coupled with the assassination, you have had the economic reforms in India, which has changed the face of developed States like Tamil Nadu and the attitude of average Tamils in the State. They have no time even for MK and JJ, and even cadre-based parties like the Communist parties do not draw even a hundred persons for their street-corner meetings, if they are not provided with chairs. In a State where DMK/AIADMK campaign meetings used to draw a million or at least a half of it for State conferences, etc, they are not able to get even a hundred thousand or so (withoutspending money).
 
People are busy mending their businesses (which for the younger gneeration over the past two decades or so is fetching  a seat in the engineering college, then winning a job in a campus interview, with their eyes set on a job in the West, ultimately). Families spend time, money and energy putting children through the mill from their Grade One, if not earlier, with the result the youth today have no knowledge or hope of being able to know anything on anything other than their studies -- that too, to the limited extent of scoring marks.Compared to their counteparts in Sri Lanka, for instance, the youth of Tamil Nadu today are unaware of anything about literature, English or Tamil, history, ancient or contemporary. They do not read the newspapers, and if they do, it is only to find out what is on in cinema halls/discos over the weekend.
 
It is this point that I was highlighting, and I have brought this to the notice of your brethren at arms who keep meeting me occasionally at Chennai, SL Diaspora representatives visiting the city occasionally.
 
I would appreciate your continued communication, which can still be educative for me on matters and perceptions that I may not know, still. I may still not agree to what you say, but I still have respect for your views and information.

As usual you did not get your facts correct. You write in a tangent. What is the connection between “good behaviour’ by the LTTE and Rajiv Gandhi and Amirthalingam?

Your statement “the LTTE has used the smoke-screen of peace-intention, tempting the other party to lower the guard, before striking hard” is outrageous. If you read recent history carefully, every cease-fire initiated by the LTTE was at a time when they were militarily strong. Not the other way round.  The devastating attack by LTTE on Katunayake airport caused losses of military and civilian assets running into millions. The capture of Elephant Pass after 34 days siege made military history.

The CFA followed because the government had no alternative but to agree to a ceasefire and peace talks. The CFA for your information did not prohibit acquisition of weapons or recruitment of cadres/soldiers by either side.  

You also confirm my long held suspicion that you are a RAW agent on its payroll. This is because of your unsolicited concern about Mahattayya’s fate.  Mahattayya was dealt with the way all military organizations deal with traitors. He allowed himself to be used by RAW to depose Prabhakaran. The plot was hatched by RAW and poor Mahattayya had to pay the price with his life! You don’t expect a guerilla organization like the LTTE to use kid gloves to deal with traitors.  

As for the following statement you have allowed your imagination to run riot. 

Read together, it has dangerous implications – for India, in particular. In plain terms, it was a call by the LTTE, for the Tamils of Tamil Nadu to revolt against the Indian State and the elected governments in Tamil Nadu and at the Centre. That the call has had lukewarm response in Tamil Nadu, as more recent appeals of the kind from the LTTE sympathisers in the State has had over the past years does not mean that peripheral groups and individuals would not take the LTTE seriously. However, in most cases, it has remained a commercial transaction, where big money is involved.  

Do you call an appeal to the people of Thamil Nadu as a call to revolt against TN State and Indian government? This is noting but sheer propaganda to scare people. It is a different matter that you will not succeed in your endeavours! 

Prabhakaran has emerged as a historical figure who has re-written the martial history of Thamils as never before in the annals of 2,000 years old Thamil history. He has unified the 80 million Thamils and has given new blood and flesh to Thamil nationalism.  Future historians will allocate many chapters to his military prowess while the likes of MK and JJ will receive only footnotes!

While I appreciate your interest in reviving  or commencing  fresh talks between the LTTE and the GoSLthere is not the slightest indication from the GoSl that it is interested in talking to the LTTE. All what we hereis about destroying the LTTE and restoring democracy (of the Sinhala variety).

I  am at a loss to know from where you are getting the signals that the GoSL is willing  for talks.

There are no such signals or indications. On  the contrary Turn-coat Hisbullah told the Sunday Times  on May 18, 2008  “All that the President told us was that he wanted to finish the war soon and therefore wanted Pillaiyan to be the CM [chief minister].”

Rajapakse’s decision to appoint Pillaiyan as the Chief Minister  is an ominous signal  that the government intends to continue to use the armed thugs of the TMVP, not only to suppress opposition in the East, but to support the military’s ongoing operations in the North.  

If you had read the history of LTTE,  the LTTE leader will never agree for talks under pressure or threat.He will rather honourably lose a war than  compromise his principles.  It is this sterling leadership that distinguish Prabhakaran from all  others.  

My grouse is you are talking about talks when there is no such even in the distant horizon. There is no such  

move even slightly on the part of the GoSL. The title and the thrust of your article is extremely misleading and unrealistic.  

Mahinda Rajapakse, like his predecessor J.R.Jeyawardena,   wants to defeat the LTTE by joining even with the devil and then  a impose dictated peace as in the east.

Thanks for the attachment, on the Sri Lankan Government saying no to Norwegian facilitation. I received this mail after replying to your earlier one.
 
Personally, I would say that the Sri Lankan Government and the LTTE could negotiate between themselves, without outside facilitation, India included.
 
Maybe, the initial ground could be laid by the TNA, which after all is a legal body under the Sri Lankan law, with freedom to walk and talk in Colombo. Yes, the LTTE would have to be involved at the appropirate time -- and in ways that lead to a final settlement. 
 
It is my personal view that with the international community very much in place, no Government in Colombo would be able to renege on the kind of B-C and D-C commitments when made. Of course, the 'international safety-net' should then be made available to guarantee the Tamils' case vis a vis the Sri Lankan State, whichever party or leader is in power. To reduce the Tamil reservations to mere names like Rajapakse or Kumaratunga does not serve the larger and long-term interests of the Tamil community. Or, so I feel.

for on behalf of  its masters. Those who put Rs.100 bread inside their mouths. Propaganda includes vilification and innuendoes.

Those who write even mildly critical of the government is savaged by its correspondents using their  vitriolic pens.  

Any fool will tell you that devolution under the 13th Amendment is "limited" because the  devolution is effected within the parameters of a UNITARY constitution. The Sinhalese racists don't understand or pretend ignorance. None other than former President Chandrika Kumaratunga has said that the ethnic problem cannot be solved under the present constitution.

Is she  also pro LTTE?  

Is the cost of the war as same as the destruction caused by the LTTE? Is LTTE having a war budget that of 1.5 billion US dollars just for one year like the government? Each rocket fired by the army costs Rs.250, 000 as  owned up by a Cabinet Minister. Hundreds of bombs have been dropped in Vanni. How much each cost? What about the destruction caused by the Sinhalar in Northeast?  

13,000 families homes and farms in Jaffna peninsula is occupied by the occupation army since 1995. That how they "liberated" Jaffna "from the clutches of the Tigers". In the east the Sinhala army liberated Mutur east at the cost of throwing more than 3,700 families

consisting of 17,000 people from 23 villages? It is now declared a High Security Zone! For whose security these HSZs are created? 

Thamils are commemorating the destruction of the Jaffna library by thugs wearing  Police uniform on the night of 31st  1981.

97,000 books were set on fire along with the building? How much is the destruction in terms of culture? 

The Sinhalese must see themselves as others see them. Not indulge in propaganda  and call names. BBC has more credibility than the government  propaganda sheet the Sunday Observer!

ஆசீர்வாதம் என்றால் Blessing இதற்கு வாழ்த்து என்று தரப்பட்டுள்ளது. வாழ்த்துதல் என்பது Greeting.
இரண்டுக்கும் வேறுபாடுண்டு.
அகங்காரம் என்பதும் தன்முனைப்பு என்பதுவும் ஒன்றல்ல...... வெவ்வேறானவை.
அவ்வாறே அற்புதம் என்பது Amazing. புதுமை என்பது Novelty. இதை சிறுபிள்ளைகளே அறிவர்.

இதுபோலவே வக்கிரம்- கோணல் , சொற்பம்- சொஞ்சம் என்ற பதப்பெயர்ப்புகளும் சிரிப்பை வரவழைத்தன.

இன்னும் நீங்கள் ஜீவனோபாயம், விச்ராந்தி, த்வனி , Busy, appointment, Bar (உணவகங்களில் குடிப்பதற்க்கெனத் தனியாக உள்ள தடுப்பு) போன்ற சொற்களையும் சேர்த்துச் சிந்திக்கலாம்.

வணக்கம். தமிழ்க்கலை, தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்லூரி மே 25-31 வரை தமிழ்மொழிக் கிழமையைக் கொண்டாட இருக்கிறது. இந்தக் கொண்டாட்டத்தின் போது பிறமொழிச் சொற்களைத் தவிர்த்து தூய தமிழை ஊடகங்கள் பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்பது வலியுறுத்தப்படும்.  தமிழ்ச் சொற்களோடு பிறமொழி கலப்பது சோற்றோடு கற்களைக் கலப்பது போன்றது.  

பிறமொழிச் சொற்களுக்குப் பதில் தூய தமிழ்ச்சொற்கள் பயன்படுத்தப்படுவது தொடக்கத்தில் வில்லங்கமாக இருக்கும். அதற்காக ஆங்கிலச் சொற்களுக்கு ஈடான தமிழ்ச் சொற்களைக் கண்டு பிடிக்கு முன்னர் வாழ்நாள் போய்பிடும் என நினைப்பது தவறு. 

எடுத்துக்காட்டாக இருபது முப்பது ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் அச்சடித்த திருமண அழைப்பிதழையும் இன்று அச்சடிக்கப்படும் திருமண அழைப்பிதழையும் ஒப்பிட்டுப் பார்த்தால் தனித் தமிழப்; பயன்பாடு மேம்பாடு அடைந்திருப்பது கண்கூடு. அது மட்டுமல்ல தமிழின் சுவை அதிகரிப்பதையும் காணலாம். 

சில ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்புவரை தமிழர்களது திருமண அழைப்பிதழ்களில் விவாகம், சுப முகூர்த்தம், பத்திரிகை, ஸ்ரீ, வருஷம், மாஸம், தேதி, சிரஞ்சீவி, சௌபாக்கியவதி, கனிஷ்ட, சிரேஷ்ட, நிச்சயம், இஷ்டமித்திர, பந்து, ஜன சமேதராக விஜயம் செய்து தம்பதிகளை ஆசீர்வதித்து ஏகுமாறு பிரார்த்திக்கின்றோம் என்றுதான் எழுதப்பட்டது. 

தனித்தமிழ் இயக்கம் காரணமாக இன்று திருமணம், நல்வேளை, அழைப்பிதழ், ஆண்டு, திங்கள், நாள், திருநிறைச் செல்வன், திருநிறைச் செல்வி, தலைமகன், தலைமகள், உறுதி, உற்றார் உறவினர், வந்திருந்து, வருகை தந்து மணமக்களை வாழ்த்தியருளும்படி வேண்டுகிறோம் என மாற்றப்பட்டு விட்டது. 

பேட்டி என்ற உருதுச் சொல்லுக்கு மாற்றான தமிழ்சொல் நேர்காணல் அல்லது செவ்வி.

தமிழ்ச்சோலை வானொலிக்கு 7 – 8 வரை நேரம் ஒதுக்கினாலும் இரண்டு மணித்துளி பிந்தித் தொடங்கி 2 மணித்துளி முந்தி முடிப்பதே வழக்கமாக உள்ளது. இது மாற்றப்பட வேண்டும். 

காலப்போக்கில் கதவானொலி நிகழ்ச்சிகள் சிறப்பாகவும் சீராகவும் அமையும் என எதிர்பார்க்கிறேன்.

            Thank you for forwarding the interesting and informative article. When there is even a minor inaccuracy in the article the whole article becomes suspect.

           What Gunanathan said is only partially right. The way palmyrah toddy is consumed is not the same as coconut toddy. Palmyrah toddy is mostly consumed fresh, especially the one tapped from a female tree, (PeN Panai). Coconut toddy is consumed mostly after fermentation. There was a belief that coconut toddy consumed fresh triggers arthritis.

There are two type of consumers. The regulars take old toddy (Pazhaya Kallu)  that contains higher percentage of alcohol the occasional drinkers prefer fresh toddy, mostly palmyrah toddy. Left over toddy is mixed with new toddy.

 

It is thought fresh female palmyrah toddy possess medicinal value. When I was young I was lean (stll) and my father arranged with the tapper to leave one bottle of female toddy daily under the tree. This particular tree used to have more than 12 pots and each gets filled soon. It is collected morning and evening twice a day. One day I took the whole stuff in one go and got half-drunk!

 

Before the war there were a million palmyrah trees standing in Jaffna peninsula alone. Palmyrah products was a thriving industry and there was a government appointed board to manage it. Today more than half the trees have been cut by the army to make bunkers! The same is true of coconut trees.

 

Kavignar Arivumathy has  written a beautiful poem on the usefulness of a palmyrah tree. He told me he spent several hours to learn about the tree from a person from Jaffna and living in Swiss.

 

As young students we were taught about the usefulness of palmyrah trees. It was  described as "Katpagatharu".

 

When I went to Thamil Eelam I saw sporadic tapping here and there. Instead of the clay pots used to collect the juice I saw  plastic bottles hanging in the air. Naagan would have  horrified to see that sight!  By the way toddy is consumed in a utensil made out of palmyrah leaf. This adds flavour to the toddy.           

 Drinking  palmyrah toddy occasionally is not considered taboo. There is an island just a few miles from my village where tapping is done on a regular basis by not the customary tappers but by others as well. When I once went to Mandaiatheevu - a small island off Jaffna peninsula -  to see the Village-Headman (Vidanai) he was on a tall palmyrah  tree busy tapping. Visitors going to see the Vidanai are served with fresh toddy instead of the usual tea! 

There was a famous murder case involving a Hindu Brahmin priest. The priest used to drink a  lot of toddy given to him by a good-hearted  tapper daily. He used to get drunk  and then dosed off.  

The priest had a young wife who took an amorous affection for the well built and muscular tapper. Extra-marital relationship  developed between the two and both thought the old priest was a villain and an obstacle. . So both conspired to kill the priest.  One day they killed him and buried him beneath a heap of cow dung in the backyard. . The Police charged the priest's  wife and the tapper for first decree murder of the priest.   

Late A.Amirthalingam appeared for the accused, but after a lengthy trial and cross examination of several witnesses he lost the case. The two accused persons were found guilty of murder and sentence to death! There after his political adversaries used to  call him "Kokilaambaaal Pugazh Amirthalingam!"
